panda
Hi everyone,Not sure if this question is appropriate in this forum (MS Office), but since OpenOffice.org (OOo in short) is also an office suite, I thought I'd post the question here.I've been using the program for a week or so already and am quite impressed. Does anyone else have good or bad words to say about this program?
LS_Dragons
I DL-ed a week ago and have been using (off and on) ever since. Very impressed - especially like the many options provided for. For example - you can set the default Save file format to any Office format from "XP" all hte way back to "97". Many other formats supported as well. I am tempted to de-M$ my system and go with OpenOffice all the way except for one nag - need an email client that works with M$ exchange. Any suggestions out there for alternative email clients -- MUST WORK WITH EXCHANGE MAILBOXES.LS
panda
HiDo you use the *extra* features provided by your exchange mailbox, e.g. Calendar, Journal, Notes, Tasks? If you do, then you're probably stuck with Outlook, as no other mail client support these Exchange features (based on my research, that is).If you don't, then you're probably free to try out other mail clients. I've heard that Pegasus Mail is pretty powerful but haven't used it myself.Below are links to some pages that discuss about accessing Exchange mailboxes:http://www.nusnet.nus.edu.sg/exchange/IntroRemote.htm http://www.utexas.edu/cc/nt/exchange/exchange_clients.html http://www.nwfusion.com/newsletters/gwm/2001/00556992.html
