Works fine here. Until it gets to the reg tweak bit, then just says cannot find C:\PostInstall\regtweak.reg

[Im new to unattended stuff]
Is this the thing that updates your computer automaticly?

kind of :)
it runs the hotfixes during windows setup, and u can add the arguments to make the insallation silent.

as an example from my xml file
 <item display='Installiere Updates'>
  	<execute display='Installiere 832353...' program='#XPLODE#\hotfixe\KB832353.exe' arguments='-Q /Z' />
  	<execute display='Installiere 834004 (Beta)...' program='#XPLODE#\hotfixe\Kb834004BETA.exe' arguments='/quiet /norestart' />
  	<execute display='Installiere Q828026...' program='#XPLODE#\hotfixe\Q828026.exe' arguments='/quiet /norestart' />
  </item>

RC1 works good here - seems to me the GUIinstal mode works fine now, or am i wrong ?

I haven't changed a single thing to do with GUI install mode. So it should draw the same way it did before. *shrugs*

Wait until I have documentation written, or go and read the pinned topic in the forum on how to get it to run.

You will need gdiplus.dll if you're running it under win2k tho.

Yeah! Just about 1 1/2 hours ago I was going to try .9 but it's already advanced so much in such a short time. If it continues at this rate we'll have v5 by this evenng :)

It's the new version of XPinstall.

Call it... XPinstall 5.0 if you want.

Added the animation thing, some random stuff that I don't remember.

You know, the usual :)

I'm fairly happy with it - will do docs tomorrow, and shift it up to 1.00 FULL.

Now I must ask, is\will there be a way to remove the animated gif? I don't see it at the moment

EDIT:: I've posted back on the bugtracker..
Also the link in your first post links to RC1 and not RC2

And just so I can prepare, what version of VisualC++ are you using?

To do (from my side - probably v1.1? please?)

a.  Bring back the rotating slick thing at the extreme left column (which used to be there in XPinstall 1.0 and 1.1).
b.  If there's only 1 sub-item under an item, maybe the extra progress bar (bounded in red in attachment) shouldn't appear.

The rotating disc thing?
I'm contemplating adding support for drawing an animated gif there. We'll see ;-)

And yeah, the no progress bar thing is probably going to be in 1.00 full, release candidates at the moment are just for testing.

could it be mande possible to turn off the rotation thing off through the xml file ? - if this feaure is "to stay"

There will be an option to turn it off, yes.

Note, in the rc2 XML, there's an overlay attribute in config.colours.main - obviously it defaults to black - I'll go change it, but you people can have a play around with it. I'll add a default value to rc3.

There's no animated gif - at the moment it's a 64x16 bmp - 4 images in sequence.
I'll be adding the option of using your own bitmap and what level of transparency you want for it. I'll also be adding how far you want to indent the actual text. (So if you don't want it, you set the indent to 0, and the transparency to full.)
Of course, I'm going to allow different sized images, so it'll be up to you to make your own and put it in the XML how you want.

Now, does anybody have ANY bugs or anomalies, other than what's already on the bugtracker?

Remind me, where is the bugtracker again?
Because I think I found a bug, but I don't know if it's in the bugtracker.

It looks like XPlode causes installers to use a wrong temporary folder. PowerArchiver, for instance, complains that permission is denied to G:\some random name. Which is not surprising, since that is the cdrom i'm installing from.
This happened first when i tried XPlode. I'm now back to XPinstall 4.3 (4.4 gave me a runtime error) and that works fine.

Can you elaborate on the problem you're getting? What are you trying to run? And how?

EDIT: I think I fixed it. Some code I had forgotten to comment out. All good.
It'll be in rc3.

I'll wait for RC3, and get back to you if it still happens.

Latest release seem to work fine for me, no errors, but DOES create the default USER ACCOUNT as in the xml file. Suggest folks check that and delete if need be.
Read the rules.

1.00rc3 is up.
Test it out as much as is humanly possible. I want t get most of the bugs ironed out for the final. Which SHOULD be the next release.

I'm using VS.NET 2003.
But it should run on anything that can support ATL7.
So any flavour of VS.NET, not entirely sure it'll work with VS6.

I am contemplating moving some of the things to standard includes, it may make things easier for plugin coders. Not sure yet. Will see.
