I have trimmed by OS with Vlite and tried it in vmware, everything is fine but when I open troubleshooting I got this error:


I tried to put the dll in system32 folder but not working, I even tried to register that dll I got this error:


then I tried to run "sfc/SCANFILE=c:\windows\system32\werconcpl.dll" this command and I get this msg "Windows Resource protection could not perform the requested operation".


I have attached the log file please see the attached file and suggest me the solution?

It seems you have removed some components needed for Windows 7 (Action Center)!

Could you attach your Lastsession.ini!

Nope, I have not used rt7lite at all. I did try to use rt7lite but it was giving me problem so I have decided to use vlite instead. I did integrate sp1 by reverse integration.
You must have remembered my post regarding RT7litePIlauncher.exe and some other problems were also there so I discarded that os and then I trimmed my OS with vlite.

Is there any way to rectify this werconcpl.dll problem?

You can try to Mount install.wim image (SP1)customized with vLite and check if you have:

1)
%Mounted_Folder%\Windows\System32\werconcpl.dll

Check inside:
%Mounted_Folder%\Windows\System32\en-US\werconcpl.dll.mui

2)
Inside: %Mounted_Folder%\Windows\winsxs:

x86_microsoft-windows-e..ngconsole.resources_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.16385_fr-fr_1eac4a50f9a98686

If you see missing files; copy/paste the original files from your install.wim SP1(made with reverse integration) mounted!


*Edit: I'm testing vLite and after removing some components, I see the werconcpl.dll and werconcpl.dll.mui files are already inside install.wim file

I guess there is some confusion mate, either you must be on 32bit OS or you think that I am on 32bit OS. I have searched in my Host OS the location of dll and mui files in the winsxs are

C:\Windows\winsxs\amd64_microsoft-windows-errorreportingconsole_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.17514_none_b43336e6398511dc

C:\Windows\winsxs\amd64_microsoft-windows-e..ngconsole.resources_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.16385_en-us_d84812f1bf0defb5 receptively.

I have tried putting the files in the respective folders but the problem is still not solved.

Of course you need to adapt with your OS, mate! I'm working with Windows 7 SP1 x86!

It seems the only way for you is to tream a new time your OS!

I guess you are right, and this time I would protect the werconcpl.dll.

It's very strange, but after the installation is complete on Oracle Sun VirualBox, I don't see any werconcpl.dll (or werconcpl.dll.mui)....But I have no errors at this time!
I think the reason is to have removed : Error Reporting inside Services.

Could you tell us when you have this error?

Try going to "control panel>Troubleshooting", I get this problem when I hit troubleshooting in control panel.

After a new test, you must keep: Services= Error reporting to keep the feature for Troubleshooting!

Help about this service and how to apply your settings:

Have you solved the problem keeping Error reporting inside Services with vLite, like I've tested myself?

Maybe there is a solution to add a new time the error reporting service! But I don't know how to do that!

I've tested vLite only to give you some help and with my customized Windows 7 SP1 I do not remove any components!

So, for your customized Windows 7 SP1, you do not remove any components. I guess that component removal may cause quite a bit of problems for all of us. Thus, what do you modify in your customized Windows 7 SP1, rather than integrating updates and drivers? Do you use other software rather than vLite in constructing your image? Pardon my curiosity here, but it would be good for me to learn how other experts like you in modifying the Windows image.

sorry my mistake, I have missed "TO" in my sentence, it should be like this "Finally I have TO trim my OS once again.

BTW, I have not trimmed my OS once again but probably I would do today in the evening.

Have you tried protecting werconcpl.dll, I am thinking of doing so.

I usually remove the components to make my OS lite. I like my OS to be as lite as possible.

No, not needed!
After a new test made like my example given above (but keeping: Error reporting with the second test, with a new image install.wim with SP1),
I just keep inside Services: Error reporting and the files werconcpl.dll were copied sucessffully and the problem has been solved like this for me!

Thanks! But I'm not an expert. I like testing and try to find solutions.

There is a lot of programs working fine to customize Windows 7 and I've tested successfully vLite with Windows 7 SP1.
I just want an OS Windows 7 working fine and my advice is to keep all components if we don't know what we want really remove!

vLite works fine with Windows 7 SP1!
Some components can be removed safely with vLite and it's needed to choose carefully which component we don't really want and what happends if some components are removed:

For my personnal use, I use WPI 8.2.1 to install my programs silently after the installation is complete. I've just customized some images (spwizimg.dll, imageres.dll, FirstUXres.wim and some others).

Se7en_UA is also an exellent program!

Just protect werconcpl.dll and you should be able to remove Error Reporting with no problem. Here is my list of protected files, which I gathered from various guides here. It is a bit overprotective, but it is better to be safe than sorry.
