Hello there fellow RP9'ers.
Since there is a lot of discussion going on in the RP9 development topic, most themes posted there will drown in the high amount of posts. Therefore I found it neccessary to create a thread devoted to the Uberskin themes.

Just post your theme, preferrably with a screenshot, and I'll add it to the OP.

Svenne's Themes
Whistler 98
This was the first RP9 theme I made, and also the first one to be released to the public. It's greatly inspired by Windows Whistler's (early XP beta) default theme, and comes in three variants: Default, Black and Luna.

Mobility
My second RP9 theme, based off a cellphone theme I made, which in turn was based upon the black Windows Mobile theme.

OS9X
My latest (and dare I say, greatest) RP9. It's heavily inspired by Mac OSX's default theme. This was requested some time ago in the RP9 topic by some guy who I can't remember. Sorry about the long wait, but here it is!

2K6
A theme heavily inspired by the design trends of Windows XP themes back in 2006; candy black title bars, shiny buttons and start buttons with text on them. I made this because I got fed up by all this nonsensical minimalism.

Kallon's Themes
GuiStyle
A very nice looking and colorful theme, based upon the Trilian theme with the same name.

(sorry, no screenshot)

Vista Sephia
A simple, yet nice edit of RP9's Vista theme (which is actually Longhorn, but who cares?).

Hello

since most themes available for uberskin are either black, blue or something inbetween I decided to convert the Guistyle themepack wich comes with 6 colorsettings. don`t worry: Black and blue are included aswell :)

the skin itself is very sneak and has a good visibility

here is a screenshot of the trilian port
http://forums.cerule...ead.php?t=79813

the uberskin port was done by me, I had to change some images to beware visibility.
I hope you like it

edit: Updatet to V3

Welcome kallon! :hello:

You've done a big & nice work
My personal choice is 'olive'.

EDIT: maybe 1 comment about the boxes tint:

Hi, CharlesF

many thanks or your suggestion, I completely agree with the boxes/radiobutton, and changed it.

I was pretty sure, that I tested the theme alot before submitting, nevertheless I found an other bug with the Flashbuttons, they didn`t work (imagesize was wrong)
Finaly i changed the Textcolor of the inactive window-caption. it`s now darker with a lit shadow below.

I edit the upper post and update the link to V2

again thanks for your nice words

kallon

Hi kallon,

thanks for the quick reply. :)

There is something else: I don't understand why you need to set a value of
TransCorn=5, in the [Global] section.

This setting is used to get round corners (transparent actually)
as detailed in the UberSkin documentation, but yours are all square!
If you set the value to 0 or delete the line, the appearance is exactly the same.

As I had explained in post#534 of RP9 's main thread,
transparent corners are giving for me (at least) a display glitch, that's why I beware of them.

Charles.

EDIT: nice changes kallon!

But IMO plain black is too dark regarding the general theme style.
I have changed it to the dark gray of the frame:

hi, CharlesF
thankyou for your comments.

I assume you have a TFT-Screen wich gives a better insight on dark colors.
in this case, what do you think about the round radiobuttons- aren`t they too dark?

I wasn`t aware of the uberskin documentation. now many things get clear to me and I`m overlooking the whole skin.ini file right now.

Yes.

Anything can be discussed, but the radiobuttons are not in plain black but dark green
(that is darker than the gray, but lighter than black :D ).

You're welcome :) .

Charles.

EDIT: Some buttons are lacking the 'Disabled' shape.
For instance, for a window that cannot be maximized, to get a hole instead:

Hi Charles,
I noticed that, too. It`s the original Guistyle behavior. but looks ugly in Win98. I changed it now like the XP-theme and made a half transparent circle.

I put the original progresschunk.BMPs back, thanks to the UberDoc they have a border now (margin-comand)

finaly fixed transparentCorners to zero.

there is still a bug left:the framebuttons have a lightened box around them

I don`t have a clue why  I checked everything
- otherwise it looks nice for now. thanks to all your comments, charles. :)

I edited the upper post`s link to GuistyleV3

Could it be something to do with 24 - instead of 32 - bpp pics?

That aside, it is very successful!

This theme is based on the "vista revolution"-theme wich was included with uberskin. i made many color variations of existing themes but this one looks (IMHO) very nice. so i think i should share. it comes with a Red-touch and a Blue-purplish-touch - Theme

Nice work Svenne! :thumbup

but like for prowler, the font seems too bold for my taste.

EDIT: and maybe the 'check pic' (the notch) should be a bit darker,
because as you can see (from your screenshot) it is not obvious when it is active or not:

EDIT 2: FWIW, I've awkwardly tried to make those 2 mods :blushing: : Attached File  2Mods.rar (5.42K)

Here is the most complete Skin collection (as far as I know) for the Tihiy's Revolutions Pack 9.

You can download the Rar file (3.68 MB) at the link: RP9_Skin_collection.rar See below post #21 .

It contains:
* 'Resources' folder is provided to replace the original %WinDir%\Resources folder.
In it, the 'Icons' folder is unchanged.
The 'Themes' folder contains the skins.

When the original skin was not working with RP9 (because it had been designed for the older version aka LameSkin), a mod have been done, and the original file is renamed '-ORIG'.

A few files could have been modded only according to my taste, but in this case the modded file is NOT active (named with '-NEW'). If you want to try it , you will have to rename first the original one, and then delete the '-NEW' extension from the modded file.

* 'RP9.reg' contains the 'Appearance\Schemes' for *all* the skins (No need to use any of the Reg files included in the skin folders).

You may edit it in Notepad to:
- delete the skins you won't use

- add the line:
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Appearance\Schemes]
in second (straight after the line: 'REGEDIT4'),
if you wish to delete all the previous Schemes you have (BACKUP first!).

The only change I have done here, is that every font has been selected in his Latin version. (Sometimes, it was originally in Cyrillic for instance.)

* 'RP9_Large(p).reg' is a personal mod of some Schemes using a bigger font size (because I personally hate to deal with tiny letters).
If you apply this reg file, those Schemes won't overwrite the others, but will be added to the originals.

Enjoy! :)
Charles.

No capcha, no waiting, no need to disable AdBlock ;)
