I run the XPCreate.cmd sometimes the ISO created is bootable and sometimes it isn't, does this happen to other people???

I've opened up the ISO in ISO buster and the boot img is there . . .

I'm using VMWare (4.05) to test the image.

nope!

in VMWare .. go to BIOS (press F2) .. in Boot setup.. set the first boot device as CDROM.

Attached Files

I had heard of others NEVER being able to create an ISO, but a sometimes yes / sometimes no situation is strange. What you could do is download a trial version of Virtual PC, and see if the same symptoms exist there. Alternativly, you could also burn a CD. Creating the bootable image is done is one step, with a call to the tried and trusted CDIMAGE.EXE program, so there is not a lot to debug.

I'm such a dill.

You see when I did the first ISO and loaded it up in VMWare it worked, the boot order wasn't changed (boot floppy, hd, cd-rom) So I didn't bother changing it when ever I created new VM's.

I've been using VMWare for about 2 yrs now, so I should have tried this first, ooooops.

Thanks for your help :)
