colinux for windows 98

Well, the legacy version of the Cygwin runtime may allow you to run X11 linux apps under 98. I used to have it installed a few years back and remember running Xfig and a few other linux apps I don't remember what they were. I initially installed it with a view to install Geomview but I never managed to get it to run (not clever enough to follow the instructions properly I guess) and so after a while I deleted this whole 1GB+ Cygwin thing to free space for other stuff. Anyway, that's the closest to co-linux under win98 there is I would think.

Apparently not:

A limited port to Windows 98/ME is possible, but that would require lots of work.

...but trying to get the 2K version of coLinux working on 98 with the help of KernelEx would be worthwhile considering the number of Linux apps we might gain access to! :yes:
