I'd like to remove the grey column sort by colour and enable just white.

Is this possible?

I'll take a guess that since this was moved from the XP forum that indeed it is not possible to do.

I think this is defined in the msstyle file.

Not really; the fact it was moved just increases your chances of a relevant answer, since now it's in the right place.
