I think corruption is all over in all countries. Nobody can honestly say that his/her country is corrupt-free. It is a shame as it is a fact that we humans are greedy. :)

Here in PR is no different than anywhere else. Corruption is one of the illnesses that don't seem to go away anywhere soon. And there never seems to be a "definitive" cure for it. Really shameful, but also a fact of life.

I've read a lot about the government of India and the bad stuff that has happened. It sucks when you have to refuse to take office for a real fear of being assassinated.

By the way, is this a poll? :)

I live in Belgium, Corruption has been reduced over the last 10 years.
But if you want something, you allways can get it from corrupt people
working for the gov!

They call it, a service for friends

In every country there is corruption, but in some countries It's on a very high level.

Chavez is a good example, I hope for you Xspectrum that the next president will be someone with respect for his people :)

Otherwise come to Belgium, we have good beer and chocolate :-)

I don't know about the rest of Australia, but here in Tasmania it's pretty corrupt. Backroom deals, heavy corporate sponsorship, jobs for the boys, and lots of spin doctors.

Not to mention the place is run by a facist faced bully boy, who uses parlimentary privellege to ridicule anyone with a different opinion.

The place may as well be run by the mob. It's not so overt as other places, but it's definitely here and it's on the increase.

 where did you get that crap from ? a fellow tasmanian speaking here

I guess we're of different political beliefs. :D You mighn't know of the bribery scandal of '89 and the subsequent Royal Commission's findings. (I'm making an assumption based on your listed birth date) A lot of those players are in the current political arena........

The commission's report makes for interesting reading. You'll understand where I'm getting "that crap" from. :)

In other countries once a politian is caught they get booted out office,
here in the Philippines they get re-elected over and over again.

well with Senators that are former action stars, comedians, sexy stars, and basketball players. What do u expect?

where the kidnappers are alined with the govt official to commit crimes.

the senators are the one smuggling dope and drugs into the country.

if that isn't corruption i don't what is.

There is an index for corruption that is updated yearly. My country is Mauritius and I dunno what is its rank....

But I'd say taht maybe 20-25% of officials are corrupt....Just my estimation.
