Ok so I setup up my windows xp and everything is great apart from 1 slight problem. As i came to the end of my editing nlite notified me that my viaide.sys file was corrupt and so when try to install my xp it stopped at the blue screen before i could do anything. My orginal version of xp is fine an it boots fine an doesnt have the corrupt viaide file. I read up on the net that its a driver file so was thinking i must have deleted a driver that this file is in or needs. does any1 know where or to what is is asscoiated to. My laptop is not the fastest or the best an dont have the money for a new 1 an the new full xps are almost too much for it. Im soooo close to making my perfect cut down version. If anyone could help it be greatly appreciated.

Either you ran nLite twice or your source is not clean. Where does that "original version" come from ?
Always start with an original. +Read the big red message up your screen.

Hi Ponch, thanks for getin back to me. How do u mean running nlite twice? I mean I only ran through the whole process once. My original copy i scanned with my antivirus and it installs perfectly everytime so dont think the problem is with that. Sorry missed the big red message, was up late racking my brain lol Iv attached my last session file now, hope it can shed sum light. Thanks again.

the original is an original if that makes sense. its just 2 heavy for my lappy . seein that the viaide.sys file is a driver of sum kind do u think it could have to do with 1 of the drivers iv deleted or a file thats asscoiated with it?

There are several versions of "original":

• original XP ("full") <-the "where" is Microsoft, directly or through a dealer
  
• original XP ("generic OEM") <-the "where" is Microsoft, directly or through a dealer, and it came together with your hardware
  
• original XP ("OEM" AND modified by the OEM, i.e. HP, DELL, etc.) <-the "where" is the OEM, directly or through a dealer, and it came together with your hardware

#3 may have been (even deeply) modified by the OEM.

um to be honest im not 100% sure as was my brother who bought it for me. so is this error basically all dependable on my version of xp and nothing to do with the editing and tweaking iv done?

No way to know, if it a modified OEM source it may be not your fault (though honestly and with all due respect, it could also be just you).
Let's see if another couple questions (actually your answers to them) provide some more useful info:

• Do you have a physical CD disc?
  
• If yes, what is written on it?
