I'd like to be able to reactivate my XP installs offline if possible. I have a valid and successfully activated XP install but I have never been able to transfer the activation to a clean install on the exact same hardware. I've read about the wpa backup method described here: http://netsecurity.a...qtwinxp0829.htm from several sources but I've never been able to get it to work.

Has anyone been able to get this to work?

Thanks for any assistance.

1st, this has no relation at all with this forum.
There is no date on that article you link, I've seen many articles like that but I've seen even more people claiming it doesn't work. It might have worked before SP2 or SP3, not even sure. The whole idea of "activation" is that you don't transfer it. Activating takes few seconds anyway. And before you go on, please read forum rule 1a, the very first one.
