nice. Which Win7 Editions have you tried? And have I read it correctly, that the VHD must fit completely into the RAM?

Works with Ultimate and Enterprise. For more information see comparison of W7 editions, look at VHD boot support.  

Also works for WSrv 2008 R2 and Windows Embedded (NT6.x).

Yes, VHD must fit completely into RAM.

Windows Embedded Standard 7 VHD Boot

IMPORTANT: VHD Boot needs the following component

System Services / File System / Advanced File System
