Hello,

I have an odd question. What is the Microsoft Publication Service? This appeared on my Vista computer last night, when I tried to connect to a Windows 7 computer.
I have successfully connected to the Windows 7 computer before, and this "Device Host" hasn't appeared.

Please do not misconstrue Windows 7 license sales as actual sales of the operating system. PCs are bundled with Windows 7, and count towards the sales figures.

Thank you, Andre.

I've seen that link before, but it doesn't really answer my question... I don't know why the Service "randomly" appeared.

EDIT: I turned the Function Discovery Resource Publication service off and that seems to have fixed the problem. The "device host" no longer appears in my network folder.
I am surprised that there isn't more material on this.
