Word doc embedded in excel crashes Word Rate Topic: -----

I receive Excel spreadsheets that have Word docs embedded in them. I can open them ok, but frequently, when I go to close the doc, it freezes and crashes Word, requiring a restart of Word. Are there settings, etc. on the user side that can prevent this?

I'm using Excel and Word 2007.
