I wonder how many people are offended that when the OS crashes, it takes a dump in the Windows folder?

Think about this.
The Windows desktop is ("is" is to be intended until the Metro crap will take ownership of everything including our souls

) as a metaphor of your office.
So you have the desk(top), your File Cabinet (you remember Windows 3.x ?) and - of course - what in plain English is called "wastepaper basket" or "wastepaper bin".
Have you ever said in your life the sentences like:
- I just received by mail, besides the usual invoices and bank reports, a strange looking envelope, as soon as I opened it and I realized that it was junk mail, I threw it in the wastepaper bin.
- I just received by mail, besides the usual invoices and bank reports, a strange looking envelope, as soon as I opened it and I realized that it was junk mail, I threw it in the wastepaper basket.

?
I would bet that you have, though I would also bet

that you NEVER said in your life the sentence:
- I just received by mail, besides the usual invoices and bank reports, a strange looking envelope, as soon as opened it and I realized that it was junk mail, I threw it in the recycle bin.
You have to admit that you are essentially politically incorrect and anti-ecologist!

and a numebr of people may take offence by your poor usage of the "appropriate" term when you throw your
waste paper in the
waste paper bin (instead of throwing your "to be recycled paper" to the "recycle bin"

)
