SBS 2003 raid install on AMD A75 mb Can't get SBS install cd to recognize raid array

Symantec Backup Exec Recovery does not seem able to load a raid driver for this board by its "recover anywhere" method. NLite seems like a great alternative.
When the NLite created SBS install cd is run (with RAID driver), SBS installer does not recognize the AMD raid array. I skipped the F6 step.
I created the array using the boards built-in utility. Then added a single RAID driver through the NLite wizard, which was the x86 RAID driver for XP.
No luck though. Should work with this hardware?

You have to select the OS, which is Windows Server 2003. We are running Small Bus. Server 2003. Note the SBS 03 install we are trying to recover used xp drivers for same RAID type (different manufacturer) without a problem.

1. You're saying that the other motherboard failed... are you now trying to connect the HDD(s) to the new one? How many HDDs were used?
2. Do you want to run the existing installation of the SBS 2003 or to install it from scratch?
3. SBS (Small Business Server) doesn't sound like something used at home. nLite is for personal use only
Edit: By the way, there's no *.oem file in the archive.

(1) Using 2 drives as RAID 0 on new board. Those drives are new.
(2) I am using a backup of the existing install. We have to do this. Symantec System Recovery 2011 image file.
SBS setup disc is very similar to XP. Our backup install used xp RAID drivers.
Microsoft support somehow just corrupted the old installation when trying to remove ISA 2004 - I paid them $280 for this incident!
So I am trying to restore an image backup using Symantec System Restore 2011. That cannot access the RAID driver.
Next tried to create a partition using SBS setup disc (modified with NLite).
The RAID driver path on the cd is attached. I used the NLite driver utility to add single file and then driver folder.

Will you be able to restore the previous configuration if you install SBS 2003 again? I'm guessing that this is what you're trying to do now and this is why you're trying to integrate the SATA/RAID driver for AMD A75. Are there no HDDs detected when you run the SBS 2003 installation?
What to you mean by "very similar to XP"? Is SBS 2003 recognised by nLite? If the folder structure, etc. is different then nLite may not integrate the drivers properly.
This is how you can integrate the driver manually (use only the files from the x86 folder):
http://www.msfn.org/...ost__p__1006081
and after that you should add more lines to:
dosnet.inf
[FloppyFiles.1] d1,ahcix86.sys
txtsetup.sif
[SourceDisksFiles] ahcix86.sys = 1,,,,,,4_,4,1,,,1,4 [SCSI.Load] ahcix86 = ahcix86.sys,4 [FileFlags] ahcix86.sys = 16 [HardwareIdsDatabase] PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4391&CC_0106 = "ahcix86" PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4392&CC_0104 = "ahcix86" PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4393&CC_0104 = "ahcix86" PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4394&CC_0106 = "ahcix86" PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7801&CC_0106 = "ahcix86" PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7802&CC_0104 = "ahcix86" PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7803&CC_0104 = "ahcix86" PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7804&CC_0106 = "ahcix86" [SCSI] ahcix86 = "AMD AHCI Compatible RAID Controller-x86 platform"
hivesys.inf
[AddReg] HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ahcix86\Parameters",,0x00000012 HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ahcix86\Parameters\PnpInterface","5",0x00010003,1
and then also make cab of ahcix86.sys and copy it to i386 (so at the end there will be two copies of the file, one in driver.cab and one in i386).

The raid situation is straightened out. Picked up a usb floppy and SBS install cd works with it perfectly.
My problem now is that SBS will need all of the xp drivers on the Gigabyte CD. Is it a complex process to configure the nLite ISO to contain all of the motherboard drivers? Your help is very appreciated.

If you want to integrate all drivers then the link I mentioned above in #6 has everything you need to integrate them... This is the only way to have FULL control of the process. Of course you can try adding them through nLite but then it's trial and error game.

I just used the floppy at F6. Previously I integrated using the wizard, not the manual approach you suggested. That did not work. After using the floppy approach, the SBS routine is blue screened during installation of the first OS cd. I thought it was using raid properly since it managed to install many files. Can you say if that is the case?
Using your procedure to integrate drivers will take many hours since the mobo cd has gillions of folders and files. Well, I just counted and found 433 inf files. Manually picking out the list for XP files would in itself be a job. The driver download from gigabyte is only an executable that builds the entire folder tree.
Do you know which particular driver types MUST be preinstalled? I imagine some do not impact install and so I can always use the install cd from SBS desktop if I can get there.

Actually nothing needs to be preinstalled. As long your HDDs are detected and there are no errors during the installation then you can just install all drivers later after the first boot.

1) What's your CPU? Do you use an APU? If not then please tell me what your graphic card is.
2) Do you use the integrated Realtek ALC889 sound card?
3) Do you use the integrated Realtek RTL8111E LAN card?
4) Are there any other devices used?
There shouldn't be many drivers needed for this particular motherboard:
- mass storage drivers
- sound drivers
- LAN drivers
and probably
- graphic drivers
If this is everything then preparing the package will be very simple. Actually the board doesn't officially support Windows 2003 Server and some drivers may not be available for the OS. You'll have to use XP drivers which should work in most cases but don't have to.

One temporary device is SIIG SATA 6 gb/s 2S1P PCIe card to allow IDE drives during install.
The site link for drivers is here: http://www.gigabyte....spx?pid=3930#dl
There are so many drivers on the cd. How do you figure out which are needed?
I installed and ran Agent Ransack since it searches very well. The device id's listed in Symantec System Recovery "Recover Anywhere" cd didn't seem to match any drivers on the cd. I did text string searches.
Thanks so much for helping put this together. It will really get me out of a huge bind.

If your motherboard is Gigabyte A75M-D2H then you can't be using the a built-in graphic card because there is none
This is the first part of the instructions:
Edit: A fixed version is available in #19

Working on this now. There are lots of SourceDiskName sections in the inf's, one for each language. They alternate with ServiceName sections, which I am leaving.
The ALC899 link (step2) is not working from here. I get the "I accept" and then click next but it cycles back. Search for ALC899 only returns the datasheet.
Am I looking in the wrong place?

This is a fixed version of the instructions (ALC899 is fixed too).
This is how you should prepare your drivers folder. First of all, create a folder called "drivers" next to the i386 (you need to copy the contents of your Windows CD to your disk):
i386 drivers
Next you should prepare the drivers:
1) Realtek RTL8111E
- Create a folder "drivers\Realtek RTL8111E".
- Go to here, download "WinXP and WinServer 2003 Driver" (Driver_XP_5798_07272012.zip) and unpack it.
- Delete all files with *64* as they are for XP/2003 x64.
From commandline:
DEL *64*- Move the remaining files to "drivers\Realtek RTL8111E":
RtNicprop32.DLL RTNUninst32.dll Netrtle.inf netrtle.cat Rtenic.sys Rtenicxp.sys(I'm not sure which of the two files Rtenic.sys and Rtenicxp.sys the system will choose so let's keep both)
2) Realtek ALC889
- Create a folder "driver\Realtek ALC889".
- Go to here, click on "Software", download "Windows 2000, Windows XP/2003(32/64 bits) Driver only (ZIP file)" and unpack it.
- We don't know the exact hardware id of your sound card so it will be safer to just include everything so copy all files from "WDM" to "drivers\Realtek ALC889" except the ones with *64*:
Alcmtr.exe AlcWzrd.exe ALSndMgr.cpl AMBFilt.sys HDA.inf HDA01.inf HDA104D.inf HDA32.cat HDA32LC.cat HDA861A.inf HDAAcer.inf HDAApple.inf HDABPCAI.inf HDACPC.inf HDAHP880.inf HDAHPAIO.inf HDAHPBPC.inf HDAHPNB.inf HDALC.inf HDALC2.inf HDALVJ.inf HDAMaxxD.inf HDAPanasonic.inf HDARt.inf HDASamsu.inf HDASRSA.inf HDASRSD2.inf HDASRSD3.inf HDASRSL.inf HDX.INF HDX01.INF HDX104D.INF HDX861A.INF HDXApple.inf HDXBPCAI.INF HDXCPC.inf HDXHP880.INF HDXHPAIO.INF HDXHPBPC.INF HDXHPNB.INF HDXLC.INF HDXLC2.INF HDXLVJ.INF HDXMaxxD.INF HDXPanasonic.INF HDXRT.INF HDXSamsu.INF HDXSRSA.INF HDXSRSL.INF MicCal.exe Monfilt.sys OAO17Afx.sys RTAIODAT.DAT RTCOMDLL.dll RTHDCPL.exe RtkAudioService.exe RtkCoInstIIXP.dll RtkCoLDRXP.dll RtkHDAud.sys RtlCPAPI.dll RTLCPL.exe RtlUpd.exe RTSndMgr.cpl SkyTel.exe SoundMan.exe vncutil.exe
3. AMD (graphics)
- Create a folder "drivers\AMD Graphics".
- Download http://www2.ati.com/...xp32_dd_ccc.exe and unpack it.
- Go to "Packages\Drivers\Display\XP_INF" and move "CX142032.inf" & "CX142032.cat" to "B140419".
- Go to "B140419" and unpack all files ending with "_" using any archives (ex. 7-Zip). Don't use the system's expand.exe because it will not unpack these particular files properly. After that remove all packed files.
- Move all files from "B140419" to "drivers\AMD Graphics":
ati2cqag.dll ati2dvag.dll ati2edxx.dll ati2erec.dll ati2evxx.dll ati2evxx.exe ati2mdxx.exe ati2mtag.sys ati3duag.dll atiadlxx.dll atiapfxx.blb atiapfxx.exe atibtmon.exe atiddc.dll atidemgx.dll atiicdxx.dat atiiiexx.dll atikvmag.dll atimpc32.dll atiodcli.exe atiode.exe atiogl.xml atioglxx.dll atiok3x2.dll atipdlxx.dll atitvo32.dll ativcoxx.dll ativvaxx.cap ativvaxx.dll CX142032.cat CX142032.inf oemdspif.dll
4. AMD (chipset)
- Download http://www2.ati.com/..._xp32-64_sb.exe and unpack it.
a) AHCI
- Create a folder "drivers\AMD AHCI"
- Go to "src\Packages\Drivers\SBDrv\hseries\AHCI_svr\XP".
- Delete "ReadMe.rtf" & "amd_sata.msi".
- Move the remaining files to "drivers\AMD AHCI":
amd_sata.inf txtsetup.oem amd_sata.cat amd_sata.sys amd_xata.sys
b ) USB 3.0
- Create a folder "drivers\AMD USB 3.0".
- Go to "src\Packages\Drivers\SBDrv\hseries\USB30\amdhub\XP".
- Move "amdhub30.inf" & "amdhub30.cat" to "x86".
- Move all files from "x86" to "drivers\AMD USB 3.0":
amdhub30.sys amdhub30.inf amdhub30.cat
- Go to "src\Packages\Drivers\SBDrv\hseries\USB30\amdxhc\XP"
- Move "amdxhc.inf" & "amdxhc.cat" to "x86".
- Move all files from "x86" to "drivers\AMD USB 3.0":
amdxhc.inf amdxhc.cat amdxhc.sys
c) USB Filter
- Create a folder "drivers\AMD USB Filter".
- Go to "src\Packages\Drivers\SBDrv\hseries\UsbFilter\XP".
- Move "USBFilter.inf" & "usbfilter.cat" to "x86".
- Move all files from "x86" to "drivers\AMD USB Filter".
USBFilter.inf usbfilter.cat USBFilter.sys
d) SMBus
- Create a folder "drivers\AMD SMBus".
- Go to "src\Packages\Drivers\SBDrv\SMBus\XP".
- Delete "INFSETUP.EXE", "ReadMe.rtf" & "SMBUSamd.msi".
- Move the remaining files to "drivers\AMD SMBus":
SMBUSamd.inf smbusamd.cat
At the end the folder "drivers" should follow this structure:
drivers\AMD AHCI\amd_sata.cat drivers\AMD AHCI\amd_sata.inf drivers\AMD AHCI\amd_sata.sys drivers\AMD AHCI\amd_xata.sys drivers\AMD AHCI\txtsetup.oem drivers\AMD Graphics\ati2cqag.dll drivers\AMD Graphics\ati2dvag.dll drivers\AMD Graphics\ati2edxx.dll drivers\AMD Graphics\ati2erec.dll drivers\AMD Graphics\ati2evxx.dll drivers\AMD Graphics\ati2evxx.exe drivers\AMD Graphics\ati2mdxx.exe drivers\AMD Graphics\ati2mtag.sys drivers\AMD Graphics\ati3duag.dll drivers\AMD Graphics\atiadlxx.dll drivers\AMD Graphics\atiapfxx.blb drivers\AMD Graphics\atiapfxx.exe drivers\AMD Graphics\atibtmon.exe drivers\AMD Graphics\atiddc.dll drivers\AMD Graphics\atidemgx.dll drivers\AMD Graphics\atiicdxx.dat drivers\AMD Graphics\atiiiexx.dll drivers\AMD Graphics\atikvmag.dll drivers\AMD Graphics\atimpc32.dll drivers\AMD Graphics\atiodcli.exe drivers\AMD Graphics\atiode.exe drivers\AMD Graphics\atiogl.xml drivers\AMD Graphics\atioglxx.dll drivers\AMD Graphics\atiok3x2.dll drivers\AMD Graphics\atipdlxx.dll drivers\AMD Graphics\atitvo32.dll drivers\AMD Graphics\ativcoxx.dll drivers\AMD Graphics\ativvaxx.cap drivers\AMD Graphics\ativvaxx.dll drivers\AMD Graphics\CX142032.cat drivers\AMD Graphics\CX142032.inf drivers\AMD Graphics\oemdspif.dll drivers\AMD SMBus\smbusamd.cat drivers\AMD SMBus\SMBUSamd.inf drivers\AMD USB 3.0\amdhub30.cat drivers\AMD USB 3.0\amdhub30.inf drivers\AMD USB 3.0\amdhub30.sys drivers\AMD USB 3.0\amdxhc.cat drivers\AMD USB 3.0\amdxhc.inf drivers\AMD USB 3.0\amdxhc.sys drivers\AMD USB Filter\usbfilter.cat drivers\AMD USB Filter\USBFilter.inf drivers\AMD USB Filter\USBFilter.sys drivers\Realtek ALC889\Alcmtr.exe drivers\Realtek ALC889\AlcWzrd.exe drivers\Realtek ALC889\ALSndMgr.cpl drivers\Realtek ALC889\AMBFilt.sys drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDA.inf drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDA01.inf drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDA104D.inf drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDA32.cat drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDA32LC.cat drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDA861A.inf drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDAAcer.inf drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDAApple.inf drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDABPCAI.inf drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDACPC.inf drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDAHP880.inf drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDAHPAIO.inf drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDAHPBPC.inf drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDAHPNB.inf drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDALC.inf drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDALC2.inf drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDALVJ.inf drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDAMaxxD.inf drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDAPanasonic.inf drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDARt.inf drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDASamsu.inf drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDASRSA.inf drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDASRSD2.inf drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDASRSD3.inf drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDASRSL.inf drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDX.INF drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDX01.INF drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDX104D.INF drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDX861A.INF drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDXApple.inf drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDXBPCAI.INF drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDXCPC.inf drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDXHP880.INF drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDXHPAIO.INF drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDXHPBPC.INF drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDXHPNB.INF drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDXLC.INF drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDXLC2.INF drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDXLVJ.INF drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDXMaxxD.INF drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDXPanasonic.INF drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDXRT.INF drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDXSamsu.INF drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDXSRSA.INF drivers\Realtek ALC889\HDXSRSL.INF drivers\Realtek ALC889\MicCal.exe drivers\Realtek ALC889\Monfilt.sys drivers\Realtek ALC889\OAO17Afx.sys drivers\Realtek ALC889\RTAIODAT.DAT drivers\Realtek ALC889\RTCOMDLL.dll drivers\Realtek ALC889\RTHDCPL.exe drivers\Realtek ALC889\RtkAudioService.exe drivers\Realtek ALC889\RtkCoInstIIXP.dll drivers\Realtek ALC889\RtkCoLDRXP.dll drivers\Realtek ALC889\RtkHDAud.sys drivers\Realtek ALC889\RtlCPAPI.dll drivers\Realtek ALC889\RTLCPL.exe drivers\Realtek ALC889\RtlUpd.exe drivers\Realtek ALC889\RTSndMgr.cpl drivers\Realtek ALC889\SkyTel.exe drivers\Realtek ALC889\SoundMan.exe drivers\Realtek ALC889\vncutil.exe drivers\Realtek RTL8111E\netrtle.cat drivers\Realtek RTL8111E\Netrtle.inf drivers\Realtek RTL8111E\Rtenic.sys drivers\Realtek RTL8111E\Rtenicxp.sys drivers\Realtek RTL8111E\RtNicprop32.DLL drivers\Realtek RTL8111E\RTNUninst32.dll
