Some time ago, when I was surfing into the net with my old desktop pc, I have downloaded the IPv6 Technology Preview for Windows 2000 from this link

Now, checking again this site, I viewed this message

"We are sorry, the page you requested cannot be found."

I have found the file on 4shared, but they are trying to move the customers to their new sh**ty OSes.
I'm beginning to hate the Micro$oft.
Why don't they simply keep the updates somewhere on their servers?.

I don't want to upgrade either.
I'm sick of M$ thinking everyone is suppose to jump everytime they come out with a new system.
Newer is always better in their eyes but not mines

I have downgraded two times on my netbook. First from the slow Windows 7 to the faster XP, and second from XP to 2000. The only thing missing is, aside my webcam, the other core of the Intel Atom.

It installs for SP1, but you can trick it to install on SP4.

I didn't find it all that interesting, but i have the install tape for it somewhere, both modified and regular.

You can still download the file thanks to the Wayback Machine:

and it's also partially included in UURollup (ENU) test versions (will be included in UURollup-v11).

Edit: What's more important here is the fact that M$ has started to remove Win2k related files. It's probably only a matter of time when other packages (updates, HBRs, etc.) will be gone. Everyone who needs them should download all necessary files and back them up. I would recommend doing it as soon as possible!!!

I personally have got around 5000 hotfixes by request (for all languages) backed up. I still need to download all regular public updates for all supported languages.

And IE6SP1 and Text Framework Service was also removed.

I have done the trick
It's interesting for me with a tunnel broker (for the people which still have only IPv4 support) you can surf in IPv6 on Windows 2000

this download has been restored on the Microsoft web site as I've recently checked myself. the MS download link and download info page both work again.

MS KB article 273826 mentions about IPv6 PR for Win2000.

Since only 5 people bought Windows 8 maybe MS should publish an update for Windows 2000 for $10 license fee to all registered users. I would gladly pay the $10 provided they don't screw it up like they did with their other OSes.

Win2000 supports dual core CPUs, even quads.

This is due to the new, useless Windows 8. M$ wants to clean their servers for the cruddy new Metro look.
