ok, now i have an .ini file with this the setup is silent.
but the registration doesnt work with the .ini,

its stored in

windows\system32\QuickTime.qtp

so for a realy silent installation with reg-information
you need this .qtp file from some other installation.
just put it in there and setup wouldnt create a new
when it detects the existing and tadaaa....
its registered....

Sorry Dudes, that's the way you do it.

I have QT 6.5 installing silently, and I have to XCOPY the reg file into c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\QuickTime. Just have it somewhere on your install disk and include the XCOPY in your post-install script.

I UnRAR it from an archive before the XCOPY because I copy all my files to hard disk in DOS first, and the file is not 8.3 compliant.

That's just the way it works, but it does work.

I have attempted a Quicktime 6 silent installation:

Do you see any problems with the code?
I have created a QuickTimeInstaller.ini with the following code:
[QTSETUP]
license_option=0
no_dialogs=true
registration_dialog=false
supress_speed_dialog=true
install_qtjava=false
install_qd3d=true
show_sample=false
show_readme=false
show_programfolder=false
install_qtinfo=true

I copied the original data from the Application Data folder into the Installation folder.

Tell me what you think:

ECHO Installing Quicktime 6.0
ECHO Please wait...
start /wait %systemdrive%\install3\Applications\Quicktime\QuickTimeInstaller.exe /s
Copy /y "%systemdrive%\install3\Applications\Quicktime\Data\*.*" "%systemdrive%\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\QuickTime"
