After using Start8 and StartIsBack for a month each your V2.0RC1 finally made me buy a 5-pack of StartIsBack. Great work! :D

Hi,
First of all I have to say that this is a fantastic piece of software. I prefer startisback to start8, but I have a problem. In start 8 you can define what you want start button to do when left clicked, metro or windows 7 start screen.
Is there an option to activate metro start screen by using left click? I could't find it. Would you be so kind to add this feature to the next release. I think that someone will find it useful.

I've seen that warning with SiB at least *sometimes*. Or am I imagining it or like I like to say - dis-remembering it? :D

That actually works for me! I have all my workstations setup so the users get NO notification at all. No popups, no questions, nothing. That way when they shutdown at night it gets rebooted that way. Why bug the crap out of them for nothing?

You can hide Start button, pin shortcut to Start screen to the taskbar and enable bottom-left screen corner. That will be close enough.

Just find a smaller button. Maybe I should include a smaller button.

Hello

Thank you very much for this app, and your great work :thumbup

Not very important, but in the start menu options (French), it will be possible to have like that?

Attached File  win7.PNG (59.31K)
Number of downloads: 12

For "Redémarrer" et "Mettre en veille"

Currently, it is like that

Attached File  win8.PNG (46.75K)
Number of downloads: 12

Thanks so much

Windows 8 renamed some of the options - eg. it's now Sign out instead of Log off, and at least in Slovenian, the translation changed accordingly. You can see that these things changed in the classic shutdown dialog - click an empty part of the desktop or taskbar and press Alt+F4, then check the drop-down entries.

Ok but it's possible to have

Quote

Redémarrer
-----------------
Veille

and not

Quote

Veille
Redémarrer

Have a separator bar between Redémarrer and Veille (for clarity, like Windows 7)

Thanks

One more interesting feature request.

Metro Apps can be used in the 1/5 of the screen mini mode, is it possible to have WIn+Tab switching mini side apps and not covering desktop ?

StartIsBack 2.0RC3
http://www.startisba...ack_setupRC.exe
This is the last RC. If no important bugs arise, that will be Release version. Just a few translations missing.

What's new:
- StartIsBack is now configurable by group policy. It was already 100% compatible with Windows 7 policy but now all StartIsBack options are fully configurable / restrictable with group policy.
Download group policy template: http://www.startisba...GroupPolicy.zip
- It also has a setting to enable StartIsBack in Safe Mode (SOFTWARE\StartIsBack\"EnableInSafeMode"=1)
- You can activate StartIsBack license online automatically from command line: StartIsBackCfg.exe /activate [/elevated] YOUR-LICENSE-KEY-NUMBER
I should write a Deployment Guide soon.

That aside, release contains few minor fixes and improvements. Just a few small steps left to 2.0 release.

Awesome news about GP! I can't thank you enough for that!!!
