I have just been given a new MEDION computer with on-board video. How can I assign more of the main RAM to video use? Is this even possible?

Alternatively can I add a separate Nvidia video card with 1GB RAM?

(Main RAM is 4GB)

Thanks

Mac

If possible, that would be in the BIOS. Some PC's don't have that BIOS option, some (most newer?) do. Onboard video usually "steals" "main" RAM for its use thus reducing usable "main" RAM.

Check the documentation (you never specified any more than MEDION which tells little) if you have it, otherwise get it.

BIOS, well, slowly all is UEFI these days, older systems still have a BIOS.

I will see if I can get my hands on the documentation in English. I only got French, Dutch and German documentation even though the installation is in English.

I will also look carefully at the BIOS settings. (Where to start?)

Thanks for the suggestion.
