Thanks ... but this time I'm serious. My guess may be more "educated" than yours, but much of XPCREATE has been designed using this very technique. Honestly. A tip: write on paper what did NOT work, so you don't need to fail twice. I do.

Thank you

Hi there xper, and thank you for the message, as well as for MSFN, and the XPCREATE Space!

I saw this post once before, and was tempted to say it will be one of my new favorite quotes. Hopefully, we'll straighten up, and you can stop banging your head on that keyboard!

@Famer
what did you do with the old windows messenger?
1. disabled it with winnt.sif?
2. kept it installed?
3. remove it somehow?

@MtK place Msg6.1 in here SVC-X2M and i also put the 5.0 version of it in the same folder s they are diffrent files and had no problems if you like you can use 4.7 just place it in this folder SVC-WMS ether or it's up too you and as i was told by a very wise man Test test test and more test dont burn it to cd or dvd till you test it in Vmware or Virtualpc

Extract Messenger 6.1 files from SETUP.EXE with the command line above:

Setup.exe /c /t:c:\msn61

This will extract the files to C:\msn61. From the files that you extracted the only one needed is: MsnMsgs.msi

Move MsnMsgs.msi to the SVC-X2M folder of XPCREATE and run XPCREATE.CMD

That's all. Now you have Messenger 6.1 integrated to your Windows XP

Hans
