Hello, I'm new to this forum.
I use a Microsoft Optical Mouse 3000, and I have downloaded
Intellipoint software. I am unable to disable the button associated
with the wheel, although the software tells me that i have done so.
Please advise.

Is it the only pointing device ? (or is it possible that the software is acting on a trackpad as well?)

My trackpad - assuming that you mean the built-in pad at the front of the KB - is disabled.
