Just installed Windows 98 on an old machine and I'm trying to get my hardware set up...

BUT..

Everything in device manager is installed twice and causing conflicts with itself. If I try to uninstall all occurences of the same device it just installs itself twice on reboot!

Any ideas what I can do????

Thanks!

Try removing those devices from Device Manager in Safe Mode. I've seen that happen before on an old system, but not during a first install.

Tried it, but it didn't work...will I be as well off to try reinstalling Windows?
