I have been told that there is a customizable version of Windows XP called Embedded. Anyone could explain what is it? Is it suitable for making WinPE?

No it is not suitable for making WinPE, A non customizable version of WinPE is included in Embedded, you can search Microsoft and see what you come up with I know there is a 120day trial of it, but it is for running specialized versions of XP, meaning those in which only need certain drivers to run because of the machine it is designed for, I have seen articles in which it can be made to run off of CD but no evidence of how to do it. Mainly it is to run XP on flashable storage mediums/ small hd dummy terminals etc... Hope this helped.

Windows imbedded is for building a minimized version of the full XP install.
A lot of companies use this for cash registers, robotics, and even some refrig.'s that are indevelopment.
