I want to automatically install LOCAL printer drivers (the printer is NOT connected) during the unattended XP installation but i have no idea how to do this...

Can anyone please help me? This would be very kind of you...

As Windows setup won't detect your printer (because it's not connected), I don't think you can install the printer drivers.

The only thing I could think of is that you copy the INF and drivers files to the relevant directories during setup and then, when you connect your printer, it should detect and use those drivers.

Or you could try and intergrate the drivers into the CD so that they're copied like all the other Windows drivers.

i personally have the same problem with my HP Deskjet 610C.

Even if i get the drivers installed, and the printer added to the menu, the Add New Hardware wizard still comes up for it


Though in your case you might be able to do it.

go to a command prompt and type Cscript C:\Windows\System32\prnmngr.vbs or whatever one to see what each does.
