does anybody remember how to exclude a specific drive from scanning via scandisk during bootup?

Are you sure you can? Looking here - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/199557 and here - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/116397 I don't see any option at all to include, exclude, or specify a disk to perform the action on. Might you be thinking about chkdsk - http://ss64.com/nt/chkdsk.html where you specify the disk? I could just not be remembering things correctly since it's been a looong time since I've used Win98.

Under WinXP, the Checkdisk has some option like this as I checked.I dig also the MDGx site for some info and atleast I have turned the Autoscan=0 in MSDOS.SYS to turn it off.
