But I've check my DWM.exe and I can see that it already had an update to version 6.2.9200.16420. Do you use the vanilla RTM without any updates?

my dwm is 6.2.9200.16384 even with all updates installed, but it should not make any difference :-/

I will try to add some debug output into file to see where it makes the error.

EDIT: blah, I am probably stupid. I already had some debug filelogs on the code but to the file E:\DWM, I guess it's what causes the crash (writing to inaccessible file). I will fix and add some more debug logs and will upload fixed version.

So next try, could you try this version http://leteckaposta.cz/653469406 (debug DLLs still required! Beta version won't need them)

It should generate file C:\DWM\debug.log with logs of initializing actions. I hope it will help to fix me the problems.

It don't create a log, it just causes dwm.exe to restart.

EDIT: Sorry, the two dll's also needs to be in system32 folder, than the hook works.

It works now. Excellent work! I've attached my debug log (I changed the file extension to .txt because msfn won't allow me to attach the file with the .log extension). Congrats on this accomplishment, I look forward to subsequent releases. Posted ImageAttached File  debug.txt (20.73K)

Awesome!
Works perfectly on my laptop with Intel HD4000 Graphic!
But there are some problems when I try to launch it on my desktop (AMD HD4850).

do you have default settings or do you use any different theme/coloring than the default? debug file is from working or non-working configuration?

Btw, what about the glossy caption buttons which glow upon hover? The Windows 8 DWM also ruined those. :(

My bad. Caption buttons obviously are part of the visual style. Sorry for confusing them with glass chrome.
