Donator

When will everyone else be getting Aero Glass? And will it be free?

I think he is still working on completing the x86 version and probably the installer, just be patient I am sure it will not be too long, I have the final version already and I know as a donator I got it early but I don't want that to be a reason for not letting everyone receive it when it's complete although I am very grateful.

FINAL = DWMHook095 with NO MessageBox.

We all have DWMHook095 and there are ways to STOP the MessageBox.

Oh, I have been travelling for several weeks. I guess I miss out on getting the final version now... Still, just in case it *might* make a difference, my transaction code is: 59417123VW8067832

Donators only got the Final first, as a little bonus. The official release is comming. Seems some people have problems with that and need to post this refrainingly.

@ DosProbie

Nice script. Actually there is no need to LogOff to make it work. Killing dwm.exe, which will restart instantly is enough :D.

I must admit that I don't know what's wrong with the transaction IDs but they don't match the ID specified with the payment at all. Thus if any donator has not received his full version yet, please check your spam folder, then contact me via PM with your transaction details (name, email etc.)

Let's make a deal. Each post of type "when will it be released?" or something similar will delay the release for one day. I hope you all will stop this then - I do this library in my free time and nobody will try to command me what I should do. Ok?

It's need to wait 3-10 minutes and you will see logon screen. Read topic before wroting.

Try disabling Secure Boot in your BIOS.

If you recieve black screen after reboot - you don't need to restore system. After it appears just wait 5-10 minutes, and windows load logon screen. I think this somehow linked with use of unsighned themes. But it may happens only on reboot or power off for shot time. If computer off for hours it always loads normally - it's riddle for me, but it's true.

P.S. I really tired to explain this things allready.

noobforlunch TRY this when you get back into desktop:

0.Diable Secure Boot in bios.

1.Make a New Folder on C:\ and rename it DWM, Now Extract DWMHook095 to C:\DWM

2.Copy

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows]
"LoadAppInit_DLLs"=dword:00000001
"AppInit_DLLs"="C:\\DWM\\DWMGlass.dll"
"RequireSignedAppInit_DLLs"=dword:00000000

Into New Text Document and Save as LoadGlass__AppInit_DLLs.reg

3.Use/Run LoadGlass__AppInit_DLLs.reg

4.Use a Default Theme, Unless you know  how to setup Custom themes regedit file to disable Theme check.

5.Sign out OR Restart PC and hope it works.

The black screen on boot-up has been discussed before, hopefully you set a restore point BEFORE activating aero glass and also I posted on 3 different Windows updates that gave me the same problem, once i uninstalled them no more black screens..DP

Oh god...if you're gonna direct people on how to do stuff, give them the right info or you'll be the reason they get black screens or it not working.

I recommend enabling aero glass from the command line and using a system drive variable with AppInit_DLLs instead of assuming that the system drive is C: when it may be D, E etc.

@echo off

:: ### ENABLE AERO..
> "%tmp%\~enable.reg" echo Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
>> "%tmp%\~enable.reg" echo.
>> "%tmp%\~enable.reg" echo [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows]
>> "%tmp%\~enable.reg" echo "LoadAppInit_DLLs"=dword:00000001
>> "%tmp%\~enable.reg" echo "AppInit_DLLs"="%systemdrive%\\DWM\\DWMGlass.dll"
>> "%tmp%\~enable.reg" echo "RequireSignedAppInit_DLLs"=dword:00000000
start /wait regedit /s "%tmp%\~enable.reg"
del "%tmp%\~enable.reg"
:: ### MAKE CHANGE IMMEDIATE..
 %systemroot%\system32\taskkill /f /im dwm.exe /t

Using REG ADD is more direct than creating a temporary .reg file:
@echo off
REG ADD HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows /V "LoadAppInit_DLLs" /T REG_DWORD /D 1 /F
REG ADD HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows /V "AppInit_DLLs" /T REG_SZ /D "%systemdrive%\\DWM\\DWMGlass.dll" /F
REG ADD HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows /V "RequireSignedAppInit_DLLs" /T REG_DWORD /D 0 /F
taskkill /f /im dwm.exe /t

I just converted a WORKING reg file to command line, besides your reg add method ERRORS out with "ERROR:Invalid syntax. Type "Reg ADD /?" for usage."  but if you tested it first before posting you would have known that.. hint add quotes to first section and then try again..DP :w00t:
