I am wondering if I should upgrade to windows 8 if it is really that good I have used 7 since it came out and I hear so much bad stuff about 8 so I looking for some feed back thank you

Some folks already have Windows 8 and have found a few workarounds to some "idiosyncrasies".

I don't know... should you? It's your choice... And also depends on your Hardware.

If you’re interested, you might want to check out the Windows 8 Page on the Springboard Series site on TechNet as there is a free 90-day evaluation trial for Windows 8. This way, you can test out Windows 8 for yourself and see how it works on your current hardware and with your current applications.

Don't bother, its not worth it. After all the issues I went through I'm back to using Windows 7. Running Windows 8 on a VirtualBox for further testing. It was stupid enough that Microsoft had to get rid of the Start button and other useful features which is enough for you to want to throw your computer out of the window.

On a new computer I would get Windows 8 and make some changes to make it more useable. If you already have Windows 7, it is not really worth it as you pretty much get zero gain. The only gain you may perceive to as getting is the ability to use Metro apps, but these aren't 'high functioning' apps.

Apparently ideally on Windows 8 you have your boot device (which realistically should be a SSD) initiated as a GPT type disk, in the scenario where you are running a UEFI BIOS, not MBR type disk. Most people will have it initiated as MBR . GPT allows for fast booting options, but also means you have to re-initiate the disk (and lose all its contents) if you want to go back to Windows 7 since Windows 7 doesn't support GPT booting.

Basically, MBR is BIOS (old style) type booting, GPT is UEFI booting. Basically booting MBR with a UEFI bios is booting in compatibility mode which is why the fast boot options don't work like they should. Or at least. this is what I believe to be the case!

I think I'll stay with Windows 7 for I am used to it. As for 8 I have windows 8 that I was able to buy for 14.95 when I got a new computer bought it but never put it in. I hear some much about how people are going back to win7
