Why was MSFN down yesterday and why is it still slow? Loading the pages takes over 1 minute for me.

Is there an offsite board or place that status is noted?

I did look at the MSFN Twitter account but there were no new entries for a couple of weeks.

Just wondering. Some sites keep a thread running at other places like Yahoo or whatever. I suppose Twitter is a better fit though for something like this.

I've had SQL Server issues all day here. Why does it randomly go out like that?

Yes, all day today I kept getting SQL Error screens that looked like this:

Number of downloads: 4

I was starting to wonder if MSFN may have been hacked because of the critique some of us have made of Windows 8...

No, I don't think it's related (although anything is possible). But MSFN was out for me, too, for something under 24h.

That's exactly the same screen I've been receiving as well. But it wasn't just yesterday, it's been happening for at least 2 weeks now but yesterday it was out for the longest.

Huh, it took me hours and hours to fix crashed tables. I hope everything is fine now.

I just got 2 alerts about hardware failure on server. Tomorrow morning i will look into it. If it's RAM in question, well it will explain all about database crash. One more thing. I will have to purchase another server, not powerful like MSFN one of course, for testing purpose. Tried to test forum upgrade on same server where MSFN is and didn't go well, server crashed because server is not powerful enough for 2 huge databases. Those donation are god send, not a close enough, but will help.

May we know the specifications of the server and the size of the database please?

BAH, Double Post. :realmad:

I'm seeing a lot of errors with MSFN tonight. SQL server errors, "Driver" errors... and sometimes the Font on the page changes when I refresh it. What's going on?

@dencorso
Please delete this or move it to this thread.

EDIT:
This error is displayed at the bottom of the page when I get the "changed Font" refreshes.
