Gotcha Thanx!! .. hey I d/l DWMHook07 and merged the AppInit where do all the .dll files and .pdb files go?

Look in the .reg file using notepad to see which is the correct folder. You can edit the regfile to change the path, can be anything as long as it does not contain spaces.

Take a look here: http://www.msfn.org/...33#entry1032633

Thanks, this is what I got after setting your Tweaker to 2D

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\DWM]
"ModifyMILContentOpacity"=dword:00000001
;0 = use Direct3D mode, 1 = use Direct2D mode
"UseDirect2DRendering"=dword:00000001

Here you go mate, just made this one for you, it's pretty much the default aero windows 7 theme with a few tweaks. http://browse.deviantart.com/art/Aero-8-Glow-364494879

aero_8_glow_by_mrgrim01-d610e1r.png

Direct download link http://www.deviantart.com/download/364494879/aero_8_glow_by_mrgrim01-d610e1r.7z

After several hours using it, I found that everything was exactly like in Windows 7 except the title bar buttons.

glowbefore.png

While analyzing your "Aero Glow v2.msstyles" with reshacker, I found which resource is responsible of title bar and window frames :

reshackers.pngreshackerstream.png

STREAM\986\0 - ORIGINAL : http://img835.imageshack.us/img835/8042/stream986original.png

Worked a few hours in order to improve it :

reshackers.pngreshackerstream2.png

STREAM\986\0 - MODIFIED : http://img803.imageshack.us/img803/9540/stream986final.png

Here is the final result after placing it back in "Aero Glow v2.msstyles" using ResHacker and applying the theme :

glowafter.png

Feel free to use it in your theme if you want :)

EDIT - Found another little fix to make for the close button glow effect :

glowbefore2.pngglowafter2.png

The glow effect was 1 pixel too large on the left so I fixed that ^^

Here is the updated file : http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/9643/stream986finalclosefix.png

I need help applying this.

This error occured in DWMGlass not in AGTweaker, so please report it in bigmuscle's topic :

Also, I heard that the 32-bit version of DWMGlass does not work properly.

Hello

I have already modified the file aero.msstyles with WSB, and I'd like to have rounded corners.

Could you explain to me how I should do?

Thanks so much

what was the version that closed the cmd box - i cannot put up with the popup any more - its out of order - surely someone who can program can get rid of it - Bugmuscle seems intent on keeping it - for me he is driving users away - thats not for here but i'm going back a few versions so would like to choose to one that works for me

I recommend ver. 0.3 in direct2D mode with GUI ver. 1.1 for best results without annoying popups.

ver. 0.4 & 0.5 are indev builds that may be unstable (got random crashes)

ver. 0.6 & 0.7 contains popup every hour.

I do not really understand bigmuscle's intentions.

As a developer I agree with him, users are often impatient and spoiled kids who spend their time moaning instead of making positive remarks...

But I see no reason of putting annoying popups, it does not encourage them to make more bug reports and it also irritates those who are willing to help.

thanks will look at that - obviously agree with your last point - i have posted on his thread that no one will remember his work if someone else releases something before him - to me he is missing his chance - but his decision - nobody remembers who was second
