skylark53
I have a number of old Outlook Express folders that contain personal email messages. I want to keep these private but without deleting them, because in the future I may wish to re-read them. I have removed the corresponding .dbx files from O.E.'s store folder and placed them in a personal area. However, anyone who knows a little about O.E. could easily reinstate them, enabling O.E. to open them again. Backing them up to CD and delete them from my hard drive will not solve the problem because the files are just as accessible on a CD.My question is, is there any way of rendering these .dbx file readable only by me? Sadly, it seems that, unlike Word files, .dbx files cannot be password-encrypted. Thanks. Sky.

Guest
Download WinRAR and install it if you don't have it.Right click the files and in the context menu click WinRAR then Add to archive.Click the advanced tab and set password.Click OK.
