XPlode 1.02

Download: http://xplode.voidfx.com/downloads/

Documentation is essentially the same, apart from the new XPlode.config.window.position attribute - it now accepts 'x,y' screen coordinates, as well as the traditional 0..8.

Test out the GUI install mode, and report anything that needs changing.
Please use the bugtracker to report anything.

Notes:
  • Do not use antialiasing when in GUIinstall mode - it will blur the text with the transparent colour - magenta.
  • Try not to use transparent colours for the same purpose.
  • For anyone that doesn't want to read the docs (a lot of you I'm sure), the colours are in the format #RRGGBBAA, #RRGGBB being the normal HTML-style colouring, and AA is the alpha transparency value.
  • When in GUI-install, set AA to either 00 or FF, depending on full transparency, or full opacity.

I'll hopefully update the docs within the next few days. First week of uni is always hectic :)

Is that only for GUIInstall? Or also standalone as well?

Did you happen to add in resizing to a size you choose? or put back in the autoresize of the background image?

dude when u released a final v.1000 I thought u were not going to update it for a while :rolleyes: I guess i was wrong :D

btw I've been using it though i had nothing to report back since its working perfectly on my installs :)

this seems like a nice feature i want to play around with.
at the point xplode runs the background reverts to xplode's background right? or is that background your original setup background?
if it is, then do u have the xplode transparent or something??
Thanks..

in Wraith's image, he's using GUIInstall mode (the thing you set in <windowmode>)
It's drawing right on top of the Setup image, and i think it's transparent as he says not to use any other transparency's since it will mess it up.

@Wraith - No probs yet with GUIInstall.

@Alanoll:

No doubt you'll have already figured out that x,y works for both standalone and GUIinstall.

No there's no manual resizing of the window. If there is a REAL need for it, then I'll add it, so you're going to have to convince me why :)

@XtremeMaC:

XPlode doesn't actually draw a background in GUI-install mode... so if you have text in your winntbbu.dll, the text will still show through.

the manual resizing is just for ease of use, for when making a skin for it. Then wouldn't have to guess at sizes, and font numbers and sizes...just stuff like that.

That's really the only reason I can think of it.

I'm using XPlode v1.00 with the GuiInstall feature and its working great. I want it to hide everything behind it so I'm not sure I'll use the v1.02 if the window is just transparent... Look at the attachment... the text hides the windows setup text. I think its more usefull that way...

Is there an option for this in v1.02?

thanks, continue the great work wraith :)

Edit: I know there is a error in my title... this is an old screenshot ^_^

There was inconsistencies with drawing the background image in previous versions, which is why I went to using transparency rather than redrawing.

I may see if I can figure out whether I can blank the text on the billboard, but don't get your hopes up.

And, just in case you were wondering, I don't plan on re-adding support for redrawing the background. It's too much of a pain in the a**, as my image resizing routines are different to microsoft's.

So I'll stick with v1.00 as I'm fully satisfied with it :)
