I'm in. I'll create the unattended CD and test it at the house in the AM.

Not personally.

I'm considering adding the ability to execute programs as a different user on the system - should clear up some issues I'd imagine.

SWEET!!! I may just redo my unattend to use that.......but dumb question here........for those that do'nt give their setup screens a facelift by editing the winntbbu.dll how would it work with the windows setup text still in the background?

Well, it'll look like two sets of text... so it's a problem.

If people want it badly, I may allow it to redraw the background as it did before...it just is a little inconsistent with resizing, so...

I tested today and Xplode freezed when deleting a directory. The XML entry I used was:

<dirdelete directory='%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Start Menu\Programs\PrintMe Internet Printing' />
<dirdelete directory='%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories\Accessibility' />

Xplode did erase the first dir, but stood there doing nothing and did not even erase anything of the 2nd one. I had to kill the xplode process via Task Manager.

??? I am doing something wrong?

BTW I noticed you commented the dirdelete lines in the Xplode 1.02 xml.

Can you run it again with logging on?

I'm using XPLode v1.00 (without problems) to install things @ T-12.

I'm using the (dead) feature to merge with setup, and I'm telling it to take all the screen.

Look at the screenshot.

XPlode v1.00 is hiding the default text (new version doesn't hide it: the window is transparent so you see the default text under your own...) so you can replace the right side of the setup...

but though that is good, if you look at the line that goes across the top (under your titles) there is a slight size and color difference. Most likely caused by the Image writing/resizing routines.

Of course its not perfect :)

If you look at the left side of the XPlode "window", just on the left of the selected item, you can see a thin vertical line of a darker blue, just before the text on the left...

But it is stable, it hide the default text and it "seems" that its the real setup...

Those really small details are forget if you look at xplode's awesome work :rolleyes:

I'm fully satisfied with it :D

Hey guys this Xplode app is awesome.

Some quick questions though. I've already searched the forums btw.

What's the best way to use this. From CmdLine.txt? Or some other way?

And I've read the documentation but I still can't figure out how to get a user name into the admin group. It'll work if if use the example in the Xplode.xml but I'd prefer not to have a Cowboy Bebop group.

haha

first let me congratulate you on searchign before asking, but this isn't the right forum for questions :) XPlode has it's own next to XPCreate's

as for the add user,
this is mine and it works...

as for when to run this, it's all up to you. You can run it in all the manners that the Unattended website uses batch files and other stuff.

I use logging all the time. It logged everything up to deleting the first directory, then no more logging.

I runned it again a few times and experienced the same behavior. However, I copied the DirOps.xpd again from the Xplode 1.00 version (not the 1.02) and THEN it worked perfectly.

Have the plugin files changed too from version to version?

To me it seems like it was also changed (the dirops plugin).

Everything back to normal again! ... Thanks

Hmmm. I don't remember changing anything.
Weird.

I'll have a look at it soon. Uni takes precedence unfortunately.

Hello to you all.
I must say that u provide an excellent piece of work and i'm as a "newbie" very happy with the great work u did Wraith!! :rolleyes:

I used it for some time now and was trying the 1.02 version, but from there i have to go with Shotgun's problems.
I experience the same thing with the last 3 items posted below. (sorry if i didn't post it like it should, only the second time replying :) )

</item>
<item display='Deleting Shortcuts'>
<filedelete source='%SYSTEMDRIVE%\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Windows Update.lnk' />
<filedelete source='%SYSTEMDRIVE%\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Set Program Access and Defaults.lnk' />
<filedelete source='%SYSTEMDRIVE%\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Windows Catalog.lnk' />
<filedelete source='%SYSTEMDRIVE%\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop\Adobe Reader 6.0.lnk' />
<filedelete source='%SYSTEMDRIVE%\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop\Nero StartSmart.lnk' />
<dirdelete directory='C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start menu\Programs\PrintMe Internet Printing' />
</item>

I executed it from SetupParams and also GuiRunOnce from my sif file
Hope u can do something with it, otherwise u can tell me what it is you need to now.
Keep up the good work.
