Contacted directly to F-secure, they said it is possible with Policy Manager. Use Policy Manager, then export to .MSI file and then it should work fine with /quiet syntax. Let's wait for more information :)

the way i installed F-Secure CS6.02 silently was by manually extracting the files using winrar and run "setup.exe/SILENT /NORESTART" then restart manually. it would say error trying to use the serial in admin.pub. there enter the correct serial no.

here is the problem. i just saw that even after reentering the correct serial, it continues to give the same error.

someone has told abt using policy manager to create msi file. i would try that now.

If you are using the central management utility called f-secure policy manager you can load the setup files for installing f-secure cs into it and export it as an MSI for AD deployment.

i changed the key in prodsett.ini and installed using /silent switch. after restarting, it says that an error has occured while trying to use the key in admin.pub. i manually changed the key and it accepted but still the error is continuously occuring. now i will try ryath's idea.
@ryath : can u pl explain the complete process of installing silently. i am now installing policy manager.

Umm dont have it in front of me sadly, going of top of my head, once u install policy manager you also need to download the "policy manager" versions of the software you wish to deploy, which comes as a .jar file or something like that. then you have to import or add it to policy manager, which can be done from the "installation" tab then going to "installation packages" and choosing import. on that same area is an export option, you click that, then from there a browser window comes up asking where u wish to save the exported file, the defaulted file type is to export it as a .jar file u can change that to .msi. once u do that it will come up with some questions, such as input license key, and a few others, then save it all together into an msi that i can confirm will run silently although does come up with its own window during install, but is still will run automatically.

Install F-Secure Client Security 7 with updated Virus definitions.
Useful to add to the WPI disc.

I still get that admin.pub error("error while using the key in admin.pub") in this version too after silent install. so firstly manual install is needed to extract the admin.pub file.

I have attached all files required so that you could proceed with silent install straightaway.

You can successfully install FS-CS7 silently if u would follow the following instructions eventhough its a bit exaustive. But you can use the attached files instead of extracting your own.

Thanks to Loras for steps 1, 3 and 4.

Step1 : Run Setup to do manual install and stop when window with components apear. Go to "%userprofile%/local settings/temp/fssetup0000001" or ur temp directory and copy the file product.ini to any location. Then continue installation and finish it. (File attached)

Step2 : download fsupdate.exe and keep the fsupdate.exe in any location for later use.

Step3 : Copy the file admin.pub from %programfiles%\f-secure\common to any location. (File attached)

Step4 : Now extract the fsecure installation file to a location and open prodsett.ini and do the following changes and save:

[F-Secure common]
SetupMode=2
CD-Key=xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx(put there your CD key)
SourceMediaPath=\
ProductInformationIni=product.ini

add or replace in All sections:
SilentMode=1 (replace 0 with 1 in all entries)
Debug=0 (replace 1 with 0 in all entries)

If not Exist add new section:
[Silent Setup]
DestinationDirUnderProgramFiles=F-Secure
Reboot=3
SilentModePluginsLang=ENG

[GUI]
; Dlg...Off = 0 | 1 | 2
; where: 0 - always display
; 1 - display in custom mode, skip in typical mode
; 2 - always hide.
DlgWelcomeOff = 1
DlgLicenseOff = 1
DlgKeycodeOff = 1
DlgUserModeOff = 1
DlgSelectComponentsOff = 1
DlgSelectPathOff = 1

Step5 : Now add the files admin.pub and product.ini to the extracted location.

Step6 : Save the following in a file named "FSecure_Update.reg" and add it to the same f-secure extracted location. (File attached)

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"ZPause"="C:\\pause60.cmd"
"ZUpdate"="\"C:\\fsupdate.exe\" /s"
"ZCleanupROE"="C:\\Cleanup.cmd"

Step7 : My extracted location is FSecureCS7. I saved the following files inside FSecureCS7\FSecureUpdate. (Files attached)
fsupdate.exe
Remove_FSecure_Update.reg
Cleanup.cmd
deleteFiles.cmd
pause5.cmd
pause60.cmd
Contents of these files are :

-->Remove_FSecure_Update.reg
----------------------------------------------
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"ZPause"=-
"ZUpdate"=-
"ZCleanupROE"=-

-->Cleanup.cmd
----------------------------
cmdow @ /HID
@echo off
SET KEY=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceEx
REG ADD %KEY% /V TITLE /D "Removing F-Secure Temp Updation Files" /f
REG ADD %KEY%02 /VE /D "Delete Temp F-Secure files" /f
REG ADD %KEY%02 /V 1 /D "REGEDIT /S C:\Remove_FSecure_Update.reg" /f
REG ADD %KEY%02 /V 2 /D "C:\pause5.cmd" /f
REG ADD %KEY%02 /V 2 /D "C:\deleteFiles.cmd" /f
EXIT

-->deleteFiles.cmd
-----------------------------
DEL /S /Q C:\pause5.cmd
DEL /S /Q C:\pause60.cmd
DEL /S /Q C:\Cleanup.cmd
DEL /S /Q C:\Remove_FSecure_Update.reg
DEL /S /Q C:\fsupdate.exe
DEL /S /Q C:\deleteFiles.cmd

-->pause5.cmd
----------------------------
cmdow @ /HID
PING -n 5 127.0.0.1>nul
exit

-->pause60.cmd
----------------------------
cmdow @ /HID
PING -n 60 127.0.0.1>nul
exit

Step8 : I used the following commands to install f-secure cs 7.

%CDROM%\FSecureCS7\setup.exe -s
%CDROM%\pause60.cmd
xcopy "%CDROM%\FSecureCS7\admin.pub" "%PROGRAMFILES%\F-Secure\common" /S /Y
xcopy "%CDROM%\FSecureCS7\FSecureUpdate" "C:" /S /Y
%CDROM%\FSecureCS7\FSecure_Update.reg

restart the computer now.
Thats it. F-Secure CS 7 is installed now and update is applied after restart.

shark, is it possible to upgrade this topic to "Fsecure client security 7 with updated virus definitions" and get my above post to the first page?. I have tested and it works. I have modified my above post to support fs-cs-7.
