I have a concern that I need someone to make sure these hotfixes are compatible for both copies of Home Edition and Professional for X86, Service Pack 3.

Please help me by pointing out the particular hotfix that won't be able to slipstream.

- WindowsXP-WindowsMedia11-KB2834904-x86-ENU.exe - This patch was botched along with KB2803821 - [http://www.infoworld.com/t/microsoft-windows/another-botched-windows-patch-ms13-057kb-2803821kb-2834904-222636]- kb2661254-X86-ENU.exe - This is widespread enterprise RSA issues. - [http://krebsonsecurity.com/tag/kb2661254/]- KB890830-v4.18.exe - This is for Malicious Software Removal Tools X64, however, reports says this scans and remove any WGA Validations, rendering the pirated licenses useless.- KB025902 - Hotfix integration failed. Please report if this is unexpected.

I really need to clean my own list from obsolete\unneeded old entries.

But.. how did you check the replaced patches?? So far, I've used Technet with a boring manual procedure lol :blushing:

P.s: do other similar pages exist for MS products like WMP11, Office 2003 (even if I often use the open source alternatives) and NetFramework 3.5 + 4?

A list for WMP11 has been posted in boooggy's slipstreamer thread. I try to keep it up to date.

Kurt_Aust maintains a list of high priority updates for dotNET 2.0 through 4.0 as part of his XP x64 project; the dotNET list is the same regardless of architecture. A more comprehensive list of updates for dotNET 4.0--including updates that aren't security related--is provided by ricktendo on WinCert in his release post for an updated installer.

Do you know, however, if those ms programs (WMP11,Netframework and maybe Directx9c) can be slipstreamed with nlite too?

In the past I've only integrated Windows generic KB fixes and silently installed the rest via runonceex (maybe to avoid having to redo the image after new versions, but by now I won't get new ones for the old Xp).

I have a question about some very old WinXp KB in my list. Are these still needed or have been replaced?

- 887606,889320,917021 --> these could have already been included in SP3, but I remember having some problem without integrating them. Do you know anything about these?

- 922120 --> this could not be integrated with nlite

- User Profile Hive Cleanup Service --> can this be slipstreamed?

Wmp fixes:

- 954156,979332, --> are wmenc9 patches needed with or without wmp11?

I can't help with Office2003. Haven't used it in eight years. Perhaps somebody else can chime in.

nLite can slipstream WMP11 if you have boooggy's slipstreamer installed. Place the WMP11 installer in nLite's Hotfix section and nLite will call the WMP11 slipstreamer automatically when needed.

nLite v1.4.9.1 cannot directly slipstream DirectX9c or dotNET. Haven't tried them with v1.4.9.3, but an addon exists for DX9c that can be used with nLite.

KB887606, KB889320 and KB917021 are no longer needed with Windows XP x86 SP3.

I once maintained a KB922120 addon for XP x86 SP2. Have you tried the KB922120 update package with the latest version of nLite (v1.4.9.3)?

The User Profile Hive Cleanup Service can be slipstreamed by using an addon.

Windows Media Encoder 9 patches are needed with or without WMP11. However, KB954156 and KB979332 were both superseded by KB2447961 the last time I checked. But why stop there? The latest Windows Media encoder is Expression Encoder 4 SP2, but it requires dotNET 4.0 Full. EE4SP2 has no high priority updates at this time. And it works to encode WMA Lossless files with Exact Audio Copy.

I keep a folder with all the updates extracted. I check the new updates file names against that folder. More often than one would think, I find that Microsoft misses replacements in TechNet bulletins.

p.s: do I really need both netframe3.5+fixes and netframe4.0+fixes? And both vcredist2008 and vcredist2010?

They're a lot (and big) to install via runonceex.. :huh:

I disagree. You couldn't pay me enough to put .NET 3.5 (300+MB) or .NET 4.0 (393 MB) on my system. **** bloated runtimes! All that to run a 1 or 2 MB program?

I do however give in and run .NET 2.0 for just 3 apps.

It's a pain, however, when you encounter those few programs that need the new version.

I've tried to search some kind of list in vain.

Anyway, MS should really extend to other apps the cumulative hotfix solution that is using for IE.

- about remote desktop, why did you include the 6.1 version instead of 7?

KB2626416 is for ADAM. That's not on a stock XP. I only do high-priority updates for a stock XP SP3.

Besides them not being high-priority updates, I see no benefit in installing Windows Installer 4.5 or RDC 7.

I use TeamViewer instead of RDC. Much better IMHO. You don't even have to install their software if you don't want. You can remote using Flash from TeamViewer Management Console.

I've had no problems using Windows Installer 3.1.

Ok, sorry I'm just checking my messy list (I'll skip ADAM too) with yours.

About RDC7 I just thought that maybe 1 hotfix (I think) for a new version was better than multiple 6.1 patches, but I guess it's not cumulative.

Ok for Windows Installer (I'll install the 4.5, however, because it was required in some cases).
