i know there is an app somewhere that u can use to mount a cd file (iso or whatever) so that the comp thinks its really a cd...anyone know what this is called, where i can get it, and what format it has to be in to mount?

Daemon-Tools is what you're talking about Akafree?

Mounts any bin/cue, ISO, and other CD images as a CD-ROM drive in 'My Computer'

Other programs that does the sort of thing requires the image to be converted to some lame VCD extension or something to be mounted, and you can't convert it back.
