1)
download and install 7-zip

2)
put the
startX.exe in the folder c:\officeshrinker

3)
create a setup.cmd file
setup.cmd is that:
@echo off
setup.exe transforms=yoyo.mst /qb-

yoyo.mst is the name of your mst file
and put your setup.cmd in the folder c:\officeshrinker

4)
select all files and directories of the folder c:\officeshrinker (setup.cmd,startx.exe+all other files and directories ) right click "add to archive"
in the option window,choose "ultra" compression
after a few minutes,you get your officeshrinker.7z

5)
put in another directory
=>officeshrinker.7z
+
=>7zS.sfx (found in c:\program files\7zip if you can't find this file,then try to install the 3.13 version of 7zip)
+
=>a config.txt with that in this config.txt:

;!@Install@!UTF-8!
RunProgram="startx /wait setup.cmd"
;!@InstallEnd@!

+
=>a finalization file (finalization.cmd) with that in :
copy /b 7zS.sfx + config.txt + officeshrinker.7z officeshrinker.exe

6)
double click on the finalization.cmd and then you get the officeshrinker.exe witch is THE file !!!

7)
if you want to test,just execute (double click) on this officeshrinker.exe,everything should be :thumbup

(if my english is hard to understand,refere to Keytotime tutorial )

i hope i have helped you

I'm having trouble with OfficeShrink... I did everything according to the guide, unattended install works perfectly... but when I start the shrink tool it goes wrong

as soon as the installation begins, I get this error (its from the AutoIt script I am sure, because when I click OK, the icon of OfficeShrink in the rightcorner disappears!)

Using VirtualPC, Office 2003 Dutch with SP1 and 2 more updates.
Did a CLEAN WinXPsp2+ryanvm (dutch) updatepack on virtualPC.

i don't think it's possible to "remove" sp1 from the directories,because some files are updated,and some are added.

the solution is probably to use an old office version

@maniaq you have to create an administrative access point first.

run setup.exe /a

ZileXa; I had the same problem: Tried to 'install' (shrink) Office 2003 Professional SP1 dutch version on a VMWare machine with Windows XP Pro SP2 (also Dutch version).

After copying the standard installation files, Office shrinker came up with the error code displayed in your screenshot. I tried serveral things in changing the shrinker.ini file, but the error code appeared over and over again.

Then i changed to a VMWare machine with Windows XP Pro SP2 english version. I used the same Office 2003 Pro files, with SP1.

I did notice that under the english version, the retry button was translated into 'Opnieuw', instead of 'Nogmaals' in the Dutch windows XP. I checked the shrinker.ini file, changed
retry = &nogmaals
into
retry = &Opnieuw
and was able to succesfully shrink Office 2003 professional SP1 Dutch.

Attached File  Error_nogmaals.png (7.04K)
Number of downloads: 93

Hope it will work at your virtual machine.

thanks yoyo! thanks a lot for taking the time. :D this really cleared things up for me. i went through all steps. but there is one problem. the office.exe file that we make at the end, the one i made makes an error. after 100% extraction, a 7zip error screen pops up and says, "cannot find specified file". i checked all paths and they are same as yours. what should i do?

anyone else have this problem?

thanks for your time! much appreciated

strange ... perhaps the version of 7zip or startX ...

try to make .exe (with the methode) of another software (not office)
=>take a software
=>make a setup.cmd

...
and then make the .exe with the 7zip method

and see if the .exe you get works

most likely the error will be due to the order he install office2003.

the proper order is

Clean Install XP + NetFrameWork 1.1 + Office Shrink (buckeye) + 7zip

When u install your RunonceEx.cmd or Wpi

Install NetFrameWork First, then Office 2003 Buckeye + 7zip

it is up to you...

the author of office shrink (buckeye) has also said to use a CLEAN install.

my guide to making a office 7zip was a huge success. almost 4000 downloads
for my pdf guide.

i have first hand knowledge on how to troubleshoot this issue.

i haven't said the opposite :)
it was just my experience,not to follow.... but it can work,that was just what i wanted to say.

but to be sure it works,we have to follow line by line the rules
