I can't get BuckeyeXP's Shrink program to work at all. I've done everything to the T that these posts suggest. I've made sure I'm using a clean XP w/o office, checked and double checked my admin install.
It looks like it runs, but after about 10 minutes into the shrink, it starts to backup and tells me that the setup is cancelled. I've tried on different machines w/ fresh images, and same thing. Is there a newer version of the Shrink app anywhere? Has anyone else been able to resolve this problem? It cant just be me w/ this issue since I've tried on multiple computers. The Shrink program was made with AutoIT. Anyone know the passphrase? I thought I could decompile it and see why it might be breaking. How small does the Shrink app actually make Office before I compress it further with 7-zip? Any help you can provide is greatly apprecitated. Thanks.

2)
put the
startX.exe in the folder c:\officeshrinker
3)
create a setup.cmd file
setup.cmd is that:
CODE
@echo off
setup.exe transforms=yoyo.mst /qb-
yoyo.mst is the name of your mst file
and put your setup.cmd in the folder c:\officeshrinker
4)
select all files and directories of the folder c:\officeshrinker (setup.cmd,startx.exe+all other files and directories ) right click "add to archive"
in the option window,choose "ultra" compression
after a few minutes,you get your officeshrinker.7z
5)
put in another directory
=>officeshrinker.7z
+
=>7zS.sfx (found in c:\program files\7zip if you can't find this file,then try to install the 3.13 version of 7zip)
+
=>a config.txt with that in this config.txt:
CODE;!@Install@!UTF-8!
RunProgram="startx /wait setup.cmd"
;!@InstallEnd@!
+
=>a finalization file (finalization.cmd) with that in :
CODE
copy /b 7zS.sfx + config.txt + officeshrinker.7z officeshrinker.exe
6)
double click on the finalization.cmd and then you get the officeshrinker.exe witch is THE file !!!
7)
if you want to test,just execute (double click) on this officeshrinker.exe,everything should be
...I've created switchless installer for office2003. However, when executed, it pops up a black CMD window to run the install command in (setuppro.exe transforms=unattended.....)
Is there any way I can stop this window appearing without giving it the exit command (which I suspect would allow setup of windows to continue even though XP hasn't finished installing),

Well, sadly this does not work for me either.
First off, it's werid...
Well, you see if I just run setup like normal from the dir. then it installs fine. That is after Windows is already installed. Same goes for running it via the command line.
But running it via gui-run-once or RunOnceEx fails....
Only two errors are reported via Event Viewer:

Well, as you can see its looking for "C:\install\Office2003\FILES\PFILES\COMMON\MSSHARED\SRCENG\OSE.EXE" .
The entire SRCENG folder does not even exist within MSSHARED.
I do not understand this at all.
And the second error just for kicks.

Update:
Well, I fixed it.
For some reason two files are missing from the compacted Office 2003 SP2 folder, that is after running the tool on the first page.
See once I add the OSE.EXE as menitioned in above error you then get this error when you try and install again:

So now copy this LCCWIZ.DLL file to the correct dir as mentioned in the error.
Now it installs fine.

Hello,
Yes I am running in English Windows XP SP2 in Virtual Machine. A new install, so no office ever installed.
After doing what I wrote above it installed fine running setup in Windows
Now the problem is trying to get it to install in Win2K SP4.
Missing at least seven files I see at the moment.
Product: Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 -- Error 1309. Error reading from file: D:\FILES\PFILES\COMMON\MSSHARED\DW\DWDCW20.DLL. System error 3. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.
Product: Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 -- Error 1309. Error reading from file: D:\FILES\WINDOWS\INF\AER_1033.ADM. System error 3. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.
Product: Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 -- Error 1309. Error reading from file: D:\FILES\PFILES\COMMON\MSSHARED\DW\1033\DWINTL20.DLL. System error 3. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.
Product: Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 -- Error 1308. Setup cannot find the required file D:\FILES\PFILES\COMMON\MSSHARED\DW\DWTRIG20.EXE. Check your connection to the network, or CD-ROM drive. For other potential solutions to this problem, see D:\FILES\PFILES\MSOFFICE\OFFICE11\1033\SETUP.CHM.
Product: Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 -- Error 1308. Setup cannot find the required file D:\FILES\SYSTEM\INKED.DLL.
Setup cannot find the required file D:\FILES\PFILES\COMMON\MSSHARED\INK\INKOBJ.DLL.
Setup cannot find the required file D:\FILES\PFILES\COMMON\MSSHARED\INK\GDIPLUS.DLL. Check your connection to the network, or CD-ROM drive. For other potential solutions to this problem, see D:\FILES\PFILES\MSOFFICE\OFFICE11\1033\SETUP.CHM.
Would be a lot easier if it told me all the files missing at install instead of only the first during install. Good be 1000 files missing and only way to find is keeping trying the install over and over and over while adding the one missing file that event viewer shows from each install.
Take Care,
Will
