387mb, not bad, leaves plenty of room for apps.

Anybody that was having trouble downloading, try again right now, because I just got it downloaded at ~400 kb/sec. Much better than the 6 kb/sec I was getting before

Can't give any specifics as it was done on a Virtual PC. It should be pretty much the same as a Windows XP SP1 installation though.

.NET Framework doesn't install with an original Windows XP SP2 disc either. Its an optional component.

You do need them there because using the reducing size of source method doesn't put them there in the first place.

Holy crap, that was a close one. First off, StyleXP obviously doesn't work on SP2.2096. So I downloaded the fixed uxtheme.dll from vortex. Hmm, I replaced it in the dllcache folder as well as the ServicePackFiles/i386. Next, I proceeded to change my theme. Big mistake.

Huge mistake. At first I thought, hmm, I'll just bring up Control Panel and uninstall SP2. Instead I was greeted with black. "Ok, System Restore!" Couldn't even find it. The whole start menu was black. Next, I tried Last Known Good Configuration. No luck. Safe mode? Still black. Boot into Longhorn and try to mount XP's registry files and fix the theme? Over my head.
Finally, I rebooted into XP and randomly clicked around for 5 minutes, using my brothers computer as a reference, and was able to restore the default Windows XP theme.
Now I'm stuck with Luna. Any suggestions on how to prevent this problem in the future and actually use a non-XP theme?
