ROTS
Basically when using your computing device, and plug it into one of these outlits, it will send an Wi-fi signal, that opts in to charge you for the usage of power. Take I go to Mcdonalds, Pizzahut, or Starbucks and decide I want to use the power-outlet for my lab-top. It will cost me money. Apparently this has been a problem for many vendors with people jacking the power supply from school outlets. I remember it being done at my college, and I bet your "non-profit-organization" has tons of people jacking the power, which adds up all together. So next time, when your in that high class place and see a free outlit, that is unplugged prepare to be billed.
Monroe
ROTS ... that's the first I've heard of that, I can still go to the local McDonalds with my computer, plug it in and get something to eat and use the Wi-Fi. Maybe that will change in the future but if people at least make a purchase of "something", even some Dollar Menu items, that ought to keep management happy ... but who can say.
