A friend of mine from work needed his pc fixed as he couldn't even log on to Windows anymore. I managed to save all his data thanks to the fact that he had 2 hard drives and I had Knoppix.
Anyway, after finally storing his data on one drive, I decided to format and install Win2k Pro onto his machine. It was running 98se with the fat32 filing system which is just too buggy. I figured ntfs would do him well even though slightly slower. Upon installing then initially booting up into Windows, I realized that he didn't give me any drivers cds. The problem is that I cannot find ANY drivers for his system other than the Network drivers.
Drivers I'm missing are the Motherboard drivers and VGA video drivers. Since I've never used VGA cards myself, I'm unsure on how to go about installing drivers and configuring the card itself. The problem is that not only do I not have drivers for the card, but I don't know what the card is.
Anyway, what I was wondering is how I need to go about this to get the card working? I think you have to install motherboard drivers first, reboot, enable vga, and then install vga drivers but I'm unsure. I'm also unsure of where to get the drivers from as the system test from http://www.pcpitstop.com doesn't even tell me what the card or the motherboard is nor does aida32
Here is a link to the system test if anyone wants to view it - http://www.pcpitstop.com/techexpress.asp?i...WWWAWFDYMMSNDXX
The pc is kinda junky so don't worry about the score. Functionality is the only thing I am worried about here
