Hi there
firstly I installed office unattendedly with the ork tools importing my settings etc..

I was trying to add and organize my address book
I was using oe's wab file usually
i imported it to outlook and fine it imported nicely (u'd think)

when i click on the address book under tools
I get this message
edit: picture removed

then I press okay and try to create a contact
edit: picture removed

so i cannot write any thing.

so what I did I created another contacts folder and imported them in there
but now whenever i try to reach my adress book the first picture (error dialog pops)

here's the current situation of the contacts
edit: picture removed

some of my rules don't work bc of this, if i was to type a name say "George" for george@outlookblows.com it doesn't do anything I've to add the rule as george@outlookblows.com.

so what can I do to delete the 1st empty contacts folder?
I tried the help but obviously I'm not entering the correct info to get the answer...

I think this happened because of my old settings which ork imported....

HELP HELP HELP
I'm willing to trade my chocolates :)

1. right-click on the contacts folder and uncheck Show this folder as an address book.

2.WHat you can do is Delete the first Entry. If you go to Tools, Email Accounts, under Directory fill View or change Existing Directory... and delete the not the outlook address book, but the other or others that appear there.

3. ALso go to Tools, options, and Options Go to the Mail Setup, and click on Data files and make sure that u only have one directory for your Data. if you do, delete the one or ones that you are allowed to delete. And if that's not the directory where your email is, then add the correct directory, but after the directory is in place, go back to Tools, email accounts and fill the second choice from top to bottom, and at the bottom of the next window u will see your personal folde, drop that down and select the one all the way at the bottom. Then go back and delete the old directory at Tools, options, and Options Go to the Mail Setup, and click on Data files.

4. finally go back to the folder list, and right-Click on the contacts and check off Show this folder as an address book.

This is what I do to alleviate the problem, hope it works for u. If you need further help feel free to im me on AIM s/n: Hydencity.... Later Mac :)

:)

my problem was a little complex there was only Contacts (pre-existing) one and everything was under it. so i first backed up the adresss book to comma sep. then deleted everything from the places u mentioed.

then added a new adress book, added a new outlook address book
then clicked show this folder as an adress book and yes it works :D)

Thanks Thanks!!!

i added u to my aim
u don't seem to be on it :)

'cause I've another question
i've set up my rules so that any email sent to my psu account goes under Psu folder. (that's if the "to has my psu email")
then i set up another rule so that any guy from my chem lab emails me (through psu) it will be moved to chem folder under psu folder
now what it does is leaves a copy of the email to psu folder and copies itself to chem folder..

how can i prevent that??? ( i haven't tried changing the places of the rules, i think it will work but i've so many rules and it gives me a headache trying to change their run priorities..)
