Bluelane
Hi!I'm wondering why ENU_Q832483_MDAC_x86.EXE (MDAC Update) is in directory SVC-MDC for Windows XP and in directory SVC-DAH for Windows 2000/2003 Server. Perhaps the "final result" is the same but anyhow..???Is it possible to "drop leading characters" like WindowsServer2003 in directory SVC-HF2 to make the "final name" easier to connect with the Hotfix-number.Ciao e carpe diem
GreenMachine
In Windows XP the MDAC update is slipstreamed, thus a "special case". It is not slipstreamed in 2K / 2K3 Servers. The final result is not the same. You may name the Type II Hotfixes whatever suits your fancy, but remember that they are installed in alphabetical order. This is not the case for Type I Hotfixes, which will be installed in numerical order determined by the KB number, regardless of how the actual files are named. Bluelane
Hi GM!Another question: What is the difference between WindowsServer2003-KB832894-x86-ENU.EXE in SVC-HF1 and Q832894.EXE in SVC-PRE?Sorry for being lazy and not start a new thread.Ciao e carpe diem
GreenMachine
Good question. My guess would be that the SVC-PRE file is incorrect. It looks like the SVC-PRE version is XP, where as the other is certainly 2003. Guess some more tests should be run ...
