Ponch
I was just pointing to submix8c the fact that having no "administrator" folder in "Documents and Settings" doesn't indicate black magic or tempering with folders/accounts.Simply, you have your 2 accounts and always logged on with "gr" or "ross" but never with "administrator" because you never had the need to. I do understand that "gr" is member of the administrator's group, but you need to understand that the "gr" account is not the (unique) "administrator" account that comes built in XP. That last account should still exist in your system as such unless you renamed it (but hopefully you'd know that). To be clear, renaming the built in "administrator" account is not the same as creating an administrator account named "gr" during the "Out Of the Box Experience". jaclaz
Thank you Jaclaz! In fact I tried other tools, because I had problems using grub4dos. Could you help me explaining me how to use it?What do you mean "problems"?Read the guide:http://diddy.boot-land.net/grub4dos/Grub4dos.htmParticularly this page:http://diddy.boot-land.net/grub4dos/files/install_windows.htm#windows1and add grub4dos as an option in boot.ini.Then follow the instructions on:http://www.sherlock.reboot.pro/passpass-bypass-the-password/jaclaz
submix8c
submix8c saidHave you, by chance, tried "F8 - Safe Mode" to see which accounts show up on the Welcome ScreenYeah, also what Ponch said (did you password protect that during Unattended Install?). And what jaclaz said.Yet, you say neither of the Accounts have (correction - "had") a Password?both of us had no password.Inconceivable! What did you do to your install that prevents logon by a simple click-of-the-icon-on-Welcome? jaclaz
However, it seems to me, that if Winlite has the same options of XP, including the repair of a previous installation, probably we can say that it is a bug.Let me understand this, you used a program without actually knowing what you were doing, very probably outside the intended scope/usage of the program, in such a way that you are not even capable of clearly reporting what exactly you did and since it didn't by sheer luck do what you presumed it should have done it is a bug of the nlite program? Instead of asking for assistance BEFORE doing the whatever you did (which rather clearly you had not any previous experience with) you come here asking for help AFTER, and once a suggestion is given to you, you first do ANOTHER thing, and then state how the suggested procedure is too difficult for you?I presume that also grub4dos, RMPREPUSB and the PassPass script will result as being full of bugs (when and if you will have time to try them).I strongly suggest you to NOT try them , as they are potentially dangerous programs/tools , and I don't want to be (indirectly) the cause of further whining.jaclaz
gius52
However I tried the "Lazesoft Recovery suite Home Edition", and the problem persists; moreover #14 22 November 2013, Kelsenellenelvian said: A "reinstall" of XP the way you tried to do it will not work...A "reinstall" attempts to reconfigure XP as the way it was configured NOT the way of the new disk that was setup. It is going to be likely that you will not be able to get into your "Old XP" as alot of the files and registry that was expected simply was not there for the setup to use. Thus rendering your installation flawed.Once a os has been nLited (Beyond simply adding a service pack) a reinstall or repair install is highly likely to simply fail". Sorry, but I didn't see a warning of danger if I tried to reinstall XP with NLite. However, tonight I wish You all to have a Merry Christmas!
