[SOLVED] XP "Freeze" on Dual Boot with 7

Dogway

Recommended Posts

Again, you did -not- get DISM from WinToolKit - you got a "warez" one that has NO UNINSTALLER! Indeed, there is NO INSTALLER with GetWaik. Just delete the darned folders and be done with it! BOOM! DISM gone - in XP. AGAIN, DISM is PART OF Win7, so do NOT delete!

Right friggin' here!!!

XP and Vista users: You will need to use the DISM Installer and .NET Framework 3.5 in order for Win Toolkit to work on your Operating System!
NOT INCLUDED!!!!

http://www.wincert.net/forum/files/file/8-dism-for-xp-and-vista/

(Please note the NAME on said Package then YOU go google the other one you initially named)

I did my research - I had SUGGESTED tryng an OLDER Driver. YOU pay attention. In addition, if YOU paid attention, Intel NEVER said those drivers worked, since they are -really- for a different Video Set. It's that dang SITE that "claims" they are correct. The -OLDER- ones are already on Intel site for (again) OLDER VIDEO! SO.... good luck with HDMI for that model. ;)

Comprende?

ok submix8c, just delete the dism folder and BOOM, load of crap left on your PC. Keep reading below:

-BTW, I won't buy your half assed help as every other newbie, do you think that an old driver will work on the newer Haswell by arts of magic? go look for VEN_8086&DEV_0412 and tell me if you find it there...

-Edit: I deleted ntldr, NTDETECT.COM and boot.ini from XP partition and XP could run smoothly so 7's boot loader is only using those in their own partition, nonetheless I'll keep them on XP partition too just in case one day I run into problems.

so to carry on, for the seekers of truth out there, I run over VM and got the install log, and a regshot for the registry, so I paste here:

DISM for XP and Vista v1.0.5 <Download>

http://www.wincert.net/forum/files/file/8-dism-for-xp-and-vista/

Sorry, you don't have permission for that!

Sorry, but you do not have access to any of the functions in our Download Manager

Need Help?

Are you a member? I'm not - RESTRICTED to a site that allows for it. As I said, not part of the OFFICIAL WinCert Packages, but a TORRENT "Package"! Wonder how the good folks over at Wincert feel about the distribution? In addition, there seems to have BEEN a MediaFire link to the DISM Package that has been removed due to Copyright Violation. You can rant and rave about "so what if it's illegal" all you want, but the bottom line is that you came asking for assistance with what's (at least on MSFN) WAREZ WAREZ WAREZ! Seems you didn't need the help ANYWAY, smarty-pants... ;)

For everyone else - Here's the DISM + Reg stuff required after download via GetWaik -

http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8616

edit - OH LOOK, he FINALLY gives this info!

SCROLL DOWN TO POST # 466 -

"Are you a member? I'm not"
So what, I am a member, but can't remember where I downloaded it from
"Seems you didn't need the help ANYWAY, smarty-pants..."
nono, I indeed needed the help, it would have saved me a never ending thread and god knows how many hours dumb-arguing with frustrated lawyers. All you added to this thread is ARGUING ARGUING ARGUING! and on a stupid manner.

For everyone else - Here's the DISM + Reg stuff required after download via GetWaik -

http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8616

For everyone else, watch out, I just discovered some moar crap inside ControlSet001\Services not included on submix8c's link.

edit - OH LOOK, he FINALLY gives this info!

You must be retarded, you are pointing me to (yet) another download link for the driver I ALREADY have installed AND if you read according (which by the time we all know you never do) is giving me issues. You said:

re - Video Driver - I REPEAT! Try an OLDER version! (Didn't read any of the links, did you?)

And now you give me the same driver ok, eeeerm wrong...a newer one (duude, you mean OLDER or NEWER? make yourself clear) anyways v.6.14.10.5445, mine is 6.14.10.5441, phewww all my bet is there, this time yes I will make the GT2 "card" shoehorn into my HD 4600, yeah!

edit: I know you are filled with curiosity..... I tested it and.... *****drums***** DIDN'T WORK!!! why doesn't it suprise me? hmmmm :}

@submix8c, Please calm down. I don't know what you mean by "not part of the OFFICIAL WinCert Packages", but that is not a torrent. Yes WinCert has some areas that are only accessible to registered members, (which is free and open to anyone), just the same as RyanVM's forum does and many other forums also do. As to the implication that the file was removed from MediaFire due to "Copyright Violation", I do not know about that, but I have seen many free files removed from MediaFire over the years that no one could figure out why they were removed. As one of the "good folks at WinCert", I would appreciate your restraint, even when you get excited. There are few enough forums that offer free and good advice for Windows users, MSFN, WinCert and RyanVM are three of the main ones I use, and we should do a better job of supporting each other. I'm not aware of any post that has been made at WinCert that bad-mouths MSFN in any way.

With all that said, Getting DISM through the use of GetWaikTools is still probably the best way to do it, and is why I agreed with you in suggesting its use.

Cheers and Regards

re - Controlset001 vs CurrentControlSet

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/100010

re - the others - gee, wonder what "regsvr32" does? Hmmmm....

Guess you should learn a little more - the info is *****drums***** CORRECT!!!

"Version" - YES, what I linked to is DIRECTLY from Intel (notice the link?). What you linked specifically stated a "newer" one was available (guess that was the one I linked to).Furthermore, YES, I DID suggest trying an OLDER one, or have you NEVER noticed that MSFN has MANY instances of a given "set" of drivers NOT "officially" working but *****drums***** ACTUALLY DO!!!

I'm guessing (just a guess...) Intel decided that all the bugs found in the Drivers for XP just weren't worth the effort of fixing since XP was being *****drums***** dropped anyway. Note - take a look at the Release Notes PDF's. ;)

March to your own *****drums*****. We work as a team here. If you don't like the "help", go elsewhere. I DO NOT OWN A HASWELL but tried to help anyway. Who else responded? N-O-B-O-D-Y!

Your *****drums***** welcome.

Idiots normally sound like idiots and you sound like a *****drums***** one. Anyway you always have the chance of looking smarter (not as a *****drums***** smartypants one like me) by posting interesting memes like jaclaz does, he looks very smart indeed, but don't let the flashes blind you, he is just another mortal like us (<- jaclaz, I'm already waiting for this meme). We could also post IN CAPITALS, because it makes one posses some kind of truth or that is what's commonly thought around us mortals. But among all that I think the better option is to simply *****drumroll*****
.
.
.

learn another language.

You lack some very important world experience with space waste and idiomatic intransigence. You learned back then, hopefully you will now too. Comprendes?

PD:

We work as a team here. If you don't like the "help", go elsewhere.

Team or gang? sorry, don't put your nice pals on shame with that phrase.

For every retardedly offtopic nonsense, I have a barely used PM box waiting your suggestions for griefs dealing and whatnot. Please use it, it serves that purpose.

No thanks. I already have several IM's from a couple of Moderators/Supervisors that, in essence, say "Put Dogway on ignore and let him suffer through his own problems." I would quote them but, unlike you, stick the the Forum Rules. Copyright? Who needs Copyright - I gots WAREZ!!! http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/170907-solved-xp-freeze-on-dual-boot-with-7/#entry1066753

P.S. I have a folder on my PC dedicated to your obstinance. ;)

Take the good advice from this Funkadelics (stoned as Clinton was) tune

Rise above or drown... Oh, and PLEASE *****drums***** report me again.
