VLC is hiding the actual error which could be almost anything. Try running VLC within a debugger such as FineSSE to see the raw Exception errors.
Design feedback requested:
KernelEx 4.5.2015
IHAtool - IpHlpApi tester; call various functions and report results
--status-> framework is solid; 22 api's fully supported; preview release coming soon
Future projects: Kexter - IP40+Ktree+Kexstubs

Well this is great in many ways since I just started to learn about reverse engineering with this blog http://thelegendofra...log/sample-page :thumbup . I've just started to learn about ollydbg but I'll give FineSSE a shot too. I dragged vlc over FineSSE (to open it) and it gave me this error. Since I haven't even started with reverse engineering a program can you tell me what this error means

EDIT: OT I also noticed that FineSSE will give me this message if I try to open another program (like CCleaner) could this message be cause because I'm opening a desktop shortcut?

Please try "-v -a6000" ala post #5 or create a batch file to do the same.
