When I try to run setup, it asks me to Insert the Windows XP Disk 1 in Drive A.Why is this message coming up? baliktad Posted March 30, 2004 Share Posted March 30, 2004 This error has to do with your marker files. You'll need at least 3 files in the root of your CD for this error to go away. For Windows XP Pro at the SP1 level, the files are:WIN51 (no extension)WIN51IP (no extension)WIN51IP.SP1For Home edition, substitute each IP with IC.The file contents aren't important, but the names must be capitalized.
