Try changing the board sensors over in the temperatures tab.

I got three sensors, shall i take the average of those?

Sensor 1 = 32oC
Sensor 2 = 53oC
Sensor 3 = -32oC

Around 28.8oC. For an Athlon XP 1800+.

I think i'll take a pic of my comp open... :)

I run at about 52C most of the time...I used Artic Silver a while back and the temp came down a few degrees.

According to Tomshardware, the Thunderbird 1.4 chip takes more energy than even the fastest AMD chips out right now :-(

Rick :)

Geeez, what fan you running on Zero for your CPU?! I think i need a new one and more powerful. My temp for my AMD Athlon 1800 XP @ 1533Ghz is about 57oC celcius and if i play a game it goes up to 64oc celcius :) I feel there may be some melting in my CPU household...

Im running a Dragon Orb 3 fan, in my system...If my cpu got that hot I think I would freeek and think that it was going to melt or something. The max temperature for those AMD cpu is about 90'c anyway.

There seems to be a wide range of temperature ranges for these .18mic processors. My Thunderbird 1.4GHZ runs from 43C to 57C.The later temp was recorded after 2 hrs of Max Payne. The cooler the better is the rule of thumb.I'm using a Thermaltake Volcano5 but there are better fans like your Dragon Orb, ZErO.When I get some cash I am upgrading my cpu to a AMD XP1.9 GHZ and although the recommended fan is the one I am running I will spend the dough for a better fan, probably a copper deal this time.Any suggestions?

You should have a look at the new Volcano 9 designed for AMD Athlon XP up to 2600+ and Intel Socket 370 & AMD Socket 462

I like the Volcano 7+, check it out here
Volcano 7+ Heatsink

If you really want to get serious go for a Zalman's CPU Cooler, something like a CNPS3100-Plus series
Zelman Coolers

The Volcano 7+ is reasonably priced $29,although the Zelman is pretty impressive.Couldn't get a price on the 3100+ on that page.Must be expensive though. Thanks ZEro

i have a zalman cooler, its very quiet and my Athlon XP temp is a pretty stable 43'C it doesent move much from that point even under full load, i had to take the speed switch and throw it in a drawer though for my cpu, as it could only ever be set to max speed, they have a nice alu version of the (copper) one i have out now.

TT have a lot of nice new gear, the Gf4 fans look neat too :)
i built a pc for a friend with a volcano 7+, its a pretty noisy thing, but does its job well.

Flash can i suggest you take a look over at http://www.chillblast.com they have a good selection of cpu fans, including the zalman (copper version, id suggest finding a supplier of the Alu version if you can)

Thanks for that FthrJACK. I got worried today, as whilst playing Counter-Strike my CPU reached a temp of 65oC Degrees Celcious which i feel is hot, bit too hot for my liking and the alarm on my Hardware sensors monitor went off...

Im getting a bit worried about this... I will look into a new more powerfull fan as i want one for my GPU...

Thanks for the link FthrJack, that Kanie Hedgehog wing looks like it generates some serious wind although with 2- 60mm fans it might be a bit noisy.I'll have to do some checking on the dB/A rating.
