bookie32
Hi guys1I have a customer computer that had a few problems and a ton of updates to install....When IE 9 installs it gives me a English menu...this seems to happen a lot on computers that have had AOL installed on them. Even though IE 9 is installed it continually wants to install the same package.... I have looked at the language settings and it shows Swedish being installed but still the English menu? I have looked for a full offline version of IE Swedish version but can't find it...? What do I do to install IE 9 but still have Swedish menu? bookie32

submix8c
Haven't used this crapware for a long time.[quite]this seems to happen a lot on computers that have had AOL installed on themAOL IE Installs are inevitably "customized" installs and have always been that way. When you open IE, it will always have the AOL customizations in them.I have tried removing the installed version and installing the Swedish one but it fails and the link goes no where...?!!Could you explain that? Also Google/Bing this."internet explorer 9" swedish downloadIt appears to need IE9 Installed and the Language Pack added afterward. The following two give the ones for Vista/Win2k8https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/internet-explorer-9-details.aspxhttps://www.microsoft.com/sv-se/download/internet-explorer-9-details.aspxLanguage Packshttps://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=1944 Of course I could be wrong. You'll need the Full Offline Installer to be sure.http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/ie-9-worldwide-languageshttp://windows.microsoft.com/sv-se/internet-explorer/ie-9-worldwide-languages I'm currently on a Pre-Vista OS so it doesn't show me too much and insists I'm stoopid.Sorry, Internet Explorer 9 isn't compatible with your system.Upgrade to Windows 8.1 now to get a faster, more secure web.(as if...) mikewse
I have the same problem on a relative's computer with swedish Vista Home Premium x86. Just did a factory reset to freshen up his system and after iterating Windows Update "until empty" I end up in the mentioned state with english IE9 and Windows Update trying to reapply (and failing) the IE9 update forever. I uninstalled the IE9 update and downloaded the offline installer. When running the installer I can see the progress bar first saying it is installing IE, which seems to work, then it switches progress text to say it is installing language pack and fails the install shortly after. It ends up in the same state (english IE9) so it seems the install leaves the successful part on the system. I fail to find separate install of IE9/Vista swedish language pack. Any ideas on how to find out why the bundled language pack install fails?
