Hi there, im trying to edit my windows xp installation cd so when it boots into pe, it dosent boot the setup for windows xp (winnt32.exe i believe) straight away - i want it to boot another file, windows explorer... so, does anybody know where the filename for the file to boot upon loading windows pe is kept?
My last resort would be renaming winnt32.exe to somthing else and putting explorer's filename as winnt32.exe!
Thanks alot!
Chris.

I assume it would be setupldr.bin, but I could be wrong. But then again I am still confused about the topic, so you are looking to see when booting WinPE, which file actualy starts WinPE or XP?

Right.
When You're Installing windows XP from dos, after it finish's copying files it loads into windows PE and loads the windows setup installation file to continue installing.
I want to change the file that boots when the setup loads into PE. I don't want it to load The continuation of windows setup, i want to load another file..
